With summer coming to an end for college students, everyone is itching to get back to their second home. Back to your friends, back to your favorite diner, and back to what they have known for almost eight months. Parents, family, and hometown friends may be starting to get sad about you leaving in a few short months, but you reassure them you'll be back in no time. You may be telling yourself you aren't ready to go back to the homework, deadlines, and late night study sessions, but here are some ways that that make you know your ready to go back to school;

New wardrobe, new hair, new you!

With a new school year approaching, you may be thinking about reinventing yourself. A new school year means a new you! Every summer, I like to get a new hair style. Whether it's just a trim off the ends, or this time a cut and color, I like to start fresh and new. Starting fresh allows you to put the past year behind you, and let you look forward to the year to come! Who knows what this new school year brings!!

You keep looking at pictures of you and friends

You've been away from the people you've done everything with for about four months, and looking at pictures of all your adventures is not helping at all. Knowing summer is coming to an end, and move in day is approaching, the excitement of causing more trouble and creating new memories is all you can think about. Though your friends from home will be upset, you are leaving again, school friends can't wait to reconnect once again.

The thought of homework doesn't seem that bad

I may be the only one that actually means this, but I actually miss doing homework. During summer vacation, you really aren't doing much thinking, unless you're doing summer classes, or working. But think about it, we did homework for what 3 months straight? It's pretty much ingrained in our daily schedule. When you start the summer, you do everything on your bucket list right out of the gate, so boredom approaches. Homework then doesn't sound like a bad idea!

ALL your conversations are school related

"Omg, when I was away at school," "School was the same way," or "My roommates and I did that one day!" You may not realize it, but whenever you are talking to someone, school is probably the hot topic. I mean what does anyone expect!? To talk about the weather?! Please! We have spent months away from school, met new people, experienced new things; it's going to be all we talk about whether you like it or not.

Being on the field again is all you can think about

Whether it's on the court, the field, or for me, in the ring, all that is running through your mind is being back playing the sport that consumed your whole school year. From fall ball, to 6 am workouts, your dedication to the game is rising, even though 6 am practice won't be your favorite thing once that time comes. Along with being back on the field, the thought of being back with your teammates is another thing most athletes can't wait for. You may be playing summer leagues, but your school team is like your second family.

Going back to school may mean something different to everyone, but one thing is for sure, it may feel like you've never left. School becomes your second home, minus home cooked meals, and your favorite furry friend. You know where every class is (almost) without needing a map, everything will be back where you left it, and the feeling of starting a brand new semester is in the air. Here's to new memories to make, and new lessons to learn.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
