How TO Unpack: College Edition

Do you know how to unpack the most effectively when you move in and out of college? You just do it.

How TO Unpack: College Edition

Seriously, just do it. Do it as soon and you settle in before it doesn't seem important anymore. The longer you wait, the longer you'll keep pushing it off. You're listening to music? Blast it and do little by little. Make a little goal and say to yourself, "I'm going to do these two boxes and then take a break".

Just doing that will ensure that you get everything done while you're still motivated. Take it from me, it takes me months to unpack and I finally realized that it could take less than a day to get it over with.

When I moved into my new house this time, I really just told myself "the fast you get it done, the faster you can nap!" It worked like a charm honestly, and I felt so much better about myself since I did it as soon as I moved in.

Once you lay everything out and find a place for your things you can learn what you might have forgotten or need to buy, or it could inspire your inner interior designer and change the room around a few times.

During this quarantine, I changed the layout of my room at least 6 times and I'm not any closer to finding something that I like. So if you're like me, your mind changes or you get inspired by something and want to do something new… or you simply can never decide what you want, this is the best reason to just do it.

There's also that satisfaction in throwing away all the bags and the boxes and stepping back and saying to yourself, "I am so happy that's over".

So I'm just here to encourage you to get the damn thing done.. it's so much easier to just suffer for a little while but then not worry about it ever again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
