Ah yes, the dreaded day full of love and same sided couples making out in the middle of the restaurant is here at last. The excitement of sneering eyes and a crocked smile as two hands intertwine while you scurry by is exhilarating . You and Valentine's Day have a whole lot of unwanted history. Whether it be from an ex boyfriend who ruined it for you, a recent breakup or you just can't stand the thought of the celebration of love when you don't have anyone to give love to. Pause for a moment-- you don't need a guy to love to rise above. Here are some tips to survive the copious amounts of giant teddy bears and bouquets that lay ahead.

The power of girl gangs.

Girl gangs are way better to share your love with. Who's there for you when you get your heartbroken? Your girls. Quit moping around and go hang out with your crew–they're always there for you and Valentine's Day is no exception.

So, maybe you want to whack that piñata heart with everything you've got.

"She's normally not like this! I swear its just this day!

Trust me, girl, me too. We've all been there. The cute couples found holding hands all cuddly, kissing in the snow is repulsive to you. If you see one more same sided table couple you might scream. Honestly, whatever–if a guy can't see how great you are, then that's his problem. You're better then those kids making out in the middle of the restaurant anyways. Catch me actually having a real conversation. I'd rather wait for the guy trying to get in my brain than my pants. Sorry, not sorry.

And you're feeling a little down on yourself.

"Nothing is more dangerous than a girl that has learned her worth" -Mel Juhr.

YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR. Look at you, you are strong, intelligent and beautiful inside and out. You don't need a guy telling you how incredible you are. Nothing is more powerful than a girl who is confident in herself. I believe in you, and I believe you are stunning–now go work the sidewalk like it's your runway.

But I just want to put on a dress and be told I'm pretty 😫

Who needs a boyfriend when I have a super cute dress to twirl around this random field in? Who's the real winner here?

You do NOT need a boy to put on a dress. Call your girl gang together, put on your pretty dress and have a photo shoot. Nothing is better than a scroll stopping power post to boost your confidence on this period of fake love.

Galentines > Valentines.

"True friends are like diamonds–bright, beautiful, valuable and always in style." – Nicole Richie

Get some wine, indulge in some death by chocolate cake and take your girlfriends out on a date! Cheers to having great friends because you certainly don't need a silly boy to make you happy on this day of being mushy gushy–ew, no thanks.

You want the guy whose going to be into you wholeheartedly.

"If you aren't happy single, you won't be happy taken. Happiness comes from within, not from men"

Maybe you haven't found him yet-- and that's okay. The time will come when a man will enter your life and swipe you off your feet in the most unexpected way. He will love every square inch of you because you are truly one of a kind. He's out there, just he hasn't realized you exist yet. If he's too shy or not ready, or maybe he's hiding off somewhere in Alabama or wherever, he'll come around. Until then, focus on being the best version of you. Enjoy your freedom and live while you're young. Keep your friends close and smile through every second because this life is short. Its not worth it to be sad over a day that is filled with mostly fake love anyways. Maybe I'm selfish, but I'm not done figuring out who I am, and I will not let a dumb boy stop me. You want someone to love every piece of you-- but first you need to fall in love with yourself.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
