Spring Break is a week in college you get to kick back, relax, and dig your toes into the sand. Unless you can’t afford to go to some exotic place, and you live in a state that is still cold and miserable during March. Not all of us get to go on vacation during spring break, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of your week free from school! Below are some ideas on how to be productive and celebrate some time off during your spring break! It is 7 days, or more, without school - live it up!
1. Take yourself on a field trip.
Remember the days in elementary school when you got to pack a brown paper lunch and go on the bus to some exciting destination with a bunch your peers? It didn’t get a lot more exciting than that. Who says you can't relieve those days? Plan a day to take a trip out to some rad place that you wouldn’t normally go to! Pile in the car with your homies and some lunchables and make a day of it.
2. Accomplish a long term goal you’ve been putting off.
Sometimes my list of “To Get Done Eventually” goes unnoticed during the busy school months. Here is your time to catch up on something that have been ignoring for a while. Maybe you have a craft idea you’ve been wanting to try for months or maybe you finally have time to finish the Vampire Diaries series so you can start the new one.
3. Do some Spring Cleaning.
This is just great to get done. Did your mom ever tell you that if you buy a new shirt you should get rid of an old one? Well I guess with Spring Cleaning, if you get rid of a few outfits it means it’s time for spring shopping?!
4. Get your taxes done.
I’m sure a lot of people have their taxes done already. Seriously, good for you. But if you’re like me and the majority of other people, that might be one of the things on your more long term to-do list that just keep getting put off. This time off from school doesn’t mean time off from life. Take a little bit of time to get your taxes done this week because you’ll thank yourself that it’s done once school starts up again.
5. Celebrate some time with a friend that lives far away.
I know a lot of amazing people that live far away and with school, a job and extracurricular activities, I just don’t have the time it takes to go see them on the regular. Without school happening for a week, there is enough time to bite the travel bullet and take a mini trip that is long overdue. Plus, it’s the perfect time to celebrate your spring break and who better to do it with than someone you miss and love?
Enjoy your Break.
Get some important stuff done so that you can spend the rest of the time relaxing and celebrating some time off. Who cares if you’re not vacationing at an awesome beach, it doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of it! Instead of moping around because you aren’t at Lake Havasu getting drunk on a boat, just follow these five recommendations and you'll be having a better time than you thought you could! After all, there's no place like home.
