4 Ways I Handle Stress

For the past week, nothing has seemed to work out for me the way I've expected. Between work, school, other commitments, and trying to get enough sleep, there's to be a never-ending ball of stress pinning me down. Everything has been adding up, so things that aren't typically stressful to me, suddenly are.

Now, I don't know a whole lot about astronomy but I've just been praying that something is in retrograde.

1. Get more sleep

When I'm the most stressed, it's usually because I didn't sleep well or sleep enough. After having a good night's rest, I feel much better and ready to tackle whatever problem I need to. It's important to get enough sleep in order for your body to recuperate

2. Work out

When I'm at my breaking point, I try to head to the gym. Even if I don't have a large amount of time, getting a quick workout or jog takes some stress off my shoulders.

3. Talk to someone

Talking to someone and working out the issue, or even if it's a five-minute vent session, can make you feel a lot better. You may solve the issue or have someone you can depend on to help you get to the solution. I'm always quick to call my boyfriend or big when I'm dealing with a stressful situation. It's nice having someone who can understand what you're going through or just be there to support you.

4. Take control

Change the things you can take control of and accept what you can't change. I try to not get overwhelmed by what I can't change. This is one of those things where you just have to suck it up and deal with it. It's not going to get done by sitting

and worrying over it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
