Need a way to turn heads and get compliments as you age? Follow these tips!
1. Contour like a Kardashian
Contouring is an easy way to give your face more definition. It helps make your cheekbones, jawline and nose more distinguished. I would start with contouring up and along the sides of your forehead and temples. Also, on the tip of your chin and the sides of your nose. This gives you a more defined face and makes you look older.
2. Create balance
This is an important technique to go by. If you are wearing darker eye shadows and eyeliner then I would suggest going with a lighter lipstick. If you are going for the more natural look and are wearing lighter eye shadow then I would go with a darker lipstick to balance the upper and lower half of your face. If you wear dark eye shadow and dark lipstick then you will look to old so please don't do it unless you want to look really old!
3. Buy some lipstick!
Lipstick is my favorite thing about makeup, you can wear it any time of the day. Lip gloss is a fun and easy way to dress yourself up but it makes you look younger. Women always compliment each other on their lipstick shades and textures! You can go with light lipstick or dark lipstick but dark lipstick makes you look older and more mature. If you're wearing dark eye shadow then I would definitely go with the darker shades. Lipstick can never hurt!
4. Color in those eyebrows.
Filling in your eyebrows aren't that important, but it definitely helps. It makes them look fuller and thicker, if you have thin or light eyebrows then I would definitely fill them in to give them some more definition. Your eyebrows are the most attracted part of the face so people are always looking to see if you have thin eyebrows, thick eyebrows or even a unibrow! You want them to be shaped up and looking good!
5. Eyeliner is the go to
Eyeliner is an easy and fast way to look older, There are different eyeliner techniques to use based on your eye shape. there is the top and bottom liner, the classic winged, the classic bar, the thin line, the graphic and the open winged liner. I always go with the top and bottom liner because I have almond shapes eyes, this gives me a more natural look. If you have round eyes then I would use the open winged liner look, it will give you more definition and will make your eyes pop. The classic wing goes with most eye shapes so if you can't think of which one to do then just go with the classic!
6. Get yourself some false eyelashes.
False eyelashes aren't important but they do help! If you have short and thin eyelashes that break easily then I would get some false eyelashes. You can wear false eyelashes on the daily! If you have thick, long eyelashes then you can just put on some mascara and you are good to go. False eyelashes can be expensive so, I would get the cheap, multiple packs from Walmart, they work wonders!
7. Curl your hair.
Straight hair is always easier and faster to do especially when your in a rush but it makes you look younger. By curling your hair, it gives you more volume and thicker hair. The more volume you have, the older you look. You can also use a volumizing shampoo to give you more natural volume. To curl your hair, you can use a straight iron, curling iron or even overnight curls! There are different curling styles. There is the soft curl, the tight curls or beach waves. Either way you can't go wrong!
8. Dress professional.
Dressing professional is an easy way to make yourself look older, You don't have to only do it for a job interview but you can do it on the daily just to give you that extra confidence boost! I would suggest wearing a knee-length, tight, black or grey skirt with flats or heels. Women always get compliments when they dress like this. I would also suggest wearing black, anything black is my go to because you can never go wrong with it. Try wearing a black dress or dress pants with a white button up shirt, it gives you a classy look and makes you look mature.
By doing these 8 things, you will get the confidence you need. I always get compliments saying that I look like I'm 12 but when I do these 8 steps, I get compliments about how I look so much older than what I usually do. It's not necessarily a bad thing to look young but girls don't usually like to have the "permanent young face." You will get compliments left and right by doing these 8 steps. Confidence is key!
