Life can be stressful. Our exterior problems with school, work, and friends mingle with our own internal problems. Our emotions play a big part in how we go about living life and how we feel about life itself. The anxiety of not knowing what will happen in the future can drive us insane. Feeling like your stuck in a routine can make you feel bored with life. Worrying can leave you overthinking everything you do, see and hear.
Both internal and external problems create a recipe for under-appreciation. It can be difficult to be optimistic when you feel like everything you’re doing is a waste of time. Nothing is worse than feeling like you’re not worthy or ready for what’s ahead of you.
Learning and understanding how to value yourself is one of the most challenging journeys you’ll embark on. It won’t be easy and it won’t happen overnight but, it will happen. Part of valuing yourself is allowing yourself to embrace the idea that you are worthy. Embracing everything that makes you who you make you stronger and happier. You have assets that someone else might not have. Every experience you’ve had shapes you and everything you’ve learned so far has value. It's all about your willingness to realize your uniqueness.
Happiness changes the way you act upon certain tasks. It can change the way you feel about accomplishing your goals, and having a clear path to your goals is crucial. Sometimes it’s the journey we become obsessed with and not the goal. Losing sight of what you want can steer you toward a destructive path.
This is where your emotions come in. You might be feeling overwhelmed with the mass amounts of work you have that you turn to certain habits to "help" you ease the pain but your problems aren’t going to go away. You’ll always be faced with hardship but you need to hold on.
The gratification you’ll receive at the end of each journey will be true bliss. Eventually, you’ll have the opportunity to do all the fun things you want to do. Fun times will always be there but opportunities to progress further in life don’t always come around.
Opportunities offer you the chance to showcase what makes you special and unique. Opportunities can be disguised in pain and temptation, but not always. Taking notice of the type of opportunity can help you make better decisions.
Ask yourself: Is this opportunity going to affect me negatively or positively?
Will it jeopardize the progress I've already made? Then answer honestly.
Facing yourself is difficult and sometimes the answer isn’t the one you were hoping for but there are a time and place for everything. Don’t let these opportunities for growth slip by you. This is your time you’re choosing to waste on something else that doesn’t benefit you. Lost time is hard to make up.
Time, yet infinite, is finite in your life. It doesn’t stop when you’re feeling down or lazy, it just keeps going but that time you’re spending being upset or unproductive is detrimental to you. We all have a limited amount of time to live and that time isn’t guaranteed.
How do you want to spend your life? Talk to yourself and figure out what it is you’re looking to get out of life and be honest with yourself. There are things you have the power to change so if you can change the outcome, do it. For everything else you can’t change, accept it.
Things happen for a reason. Everything that happens to you can serve you well if you want it to.
Even when you hit rock bottom, no matter how low that is, remember it’s a chance to grow. Evaluate the situation you find yourself in and ask yourself why and how you got there.
What did you get out of it but most importantly, what can you learn from it?
Self-growth is nothing without realizing how far you’ve already come. Take the time to appreciate yourself and everything you’ve accomplished in your life.
Accomplishments don’t always come in the form of money or material objects so don’t be discouraged if you don’t have something someone else does. True happiness and fulfillment come from within, not from the items you’re surrounded by. You could have everything in the world but if you’re mind and heart are unhappy, what good is everything else?
Being alive is an accomplishment in itself! You’ve made it this far in this game we call life, so keep going and keep collecting points.
Lastly, never lose sight of why you’re doing what you’re doing. Keep your goals fresh in your mind so that when you hit a point where you want to give up, you’ll remember why you even started. You didn’t sacrifice so much just to give up halfway.
Don’t give up on yourself and your dreams. It’s possible to achieve everything you want, you just have to have faith in yourself and your skills. No one said life was going to be easy but it doesn’t mean it has to miserable.
Fight back with your determination and crave to become better.
You are strong and worthy of everything you want in life, it all depends on how much you want it.
