First impressions matter. If their website is messy, clunky, and isn't functional, that should send red flags. If they don't care about how their website looks, chances are they don't care about your HVAC unit.

Don’t Take an Estimate Over the Phone

If you're on the phone with a company who gives you an estimate, hang up. They can't give you a proper quote without inspecting your unit.

Find out how long they've been in business. While there's nothing wrong with trying a new company, finding out the length of operation will give you an idea if they've been around for a while.

Look at Reviews

Look on their website and sites like Yelp. Previous customers will give you the rundown of how this company conducts business.

If they have a lot of negative reviews, it's best to not go with them. A few negatives isn't bad—you want to make sure the positive ones outweigh the negative reviews.
