When people think of different ways to finding confidence they often feel as if It's like searching for a hidden treasure. Who says gaining confidence has to be some treasure hunt. Confidence isn't something that can be found on a shelf at the beauty counter, it's nothing that comes from being anything other than who you are, and no one is immune from confidence. Here are a few ways to channeling your inner self confidence.
Before anything else a great way to begin is to examine yourself. This doesn't mean stand in the mirror and find everything that you don't like about yourself. This is meant to change your way of thinking. Flood your mind with positive thoughts. Show yourself some self love and remind yourself of everything that makes you amazing. When you do this daily you’ll come to realize how much of an impact our thoughts affect the way we see ourselves. Our thoughts are more powerful than you think which is why examining yourself from the inside is the best place to begin to channeling a part of yourself you may not even knew was there. That person you channel is still you, but it's the version of you that walks with your head held high, the part of you that feels like they are capable of taking on any challenge thrown their way. The side of yourself that walks into a room full of people glowing and ready to introduce yourself to the first person you see sitting alone. That person is the confident person you’ve been searching for.
The next step is to stop examining everyone else. There's nothing wrong with admiring others characteristics or features but compare and contrast can have some major ripple effects on how you see yourself. You don't have to dress like everyone else or have the same opinions as your friends. Confidence will come when you wear what makes you feel good without having to check to see what everyone else is wearing. When you can speak your mind without having to see what the majority says first. This may be scary to come to terms with but if the people you call your friends can't accept you for the way you wanna dress or your honest opinion on certain topics then you may wanna examine your friend group.
The next way to channeling confidence is to surround yourself with positive vibes. No matter if it's friends, family, environment or places where you hangout, even your room. When you are surrounded by people who lift you up, celebrate you, and support you then confidence will flow into you especially when you're around those people. The places you hangout as well as environment may impact your confidence. If you’re in a place where you feel pressured to do everything that everyone is doing whether a party or any place where people judge you for being you it may be time to change things up a little. For a place such as your room, you can have things that inspire you and motivational sayings that push you to pursue your goals.
It's important to stop trying to please everyone around you. This means no longer looking for everyone else's approval. The decisions you make on a daily basis shouldn't require approval from anyone nor pleasing anyone. No matter if it's a relationship, friendship or sometimes even family. The basic decisions you make are about what's best for you. You shouldn't have to be afraid of making a simple decision because of someone close to you shaking their head in shame or looking down on you with disappointment.
The last tip is to be yourself. When you find yourself and get to know yourself then confidence won't be far behind. Pretending to be someone your not can backfire. People change and grow all the time. This isn't meant to be applied towards the part of you that has changed or grown. This applies when being something that you know you're not just to feel acceptance or to feel included in the group. Acceptance isn't a high school phase that fizzles out. Neither is changing who you are to feel included. Being yourself will not only help your confidence but will also help you feel accepted and included. You have to accept yourself, be comfortable with who you are as a person and own your opinions before expecting anyone else to. With that comes confidence.
