How To Calm Down

Stress is something that everyone deals with. From worrying about your studies to getting your numbers in to your boss by Friday, stress is a part of life. However, there are plenty of simple solutions that can alleviate some stress and make life a little more manageable.

1. Listen to music.

From Beethoven to the Beatles, music has been known to be a major source of stress relief. Don't be afraid to take a few minutes out of your day to jam to your favorite band and do a little dancing to loosen up a bit.

2. Do yoga.

Science says that proper diet and exercise is pivotal to not only a healthy life, but a less-stressful life. Stretching releases endorphins and lightens moods and increases blood flow to the body.

3. Catch up on some reading.

There's nothing like relaxing on an afternoon and grabbing a good novel. Magazines, non-fiction, pamphlets, and articles are all great ways to give you a little break in your stressful day.

4. Hang with friends. In a stressful world, it is important to surround yourself with positive people. Stress usually piles up when we have a lot on our plates. Dividing up your time between your work and your friends is the best way to feel less consumed by life's stress.

5. Spa Day

It's hard to turn down a massage. Manicures, pedicures, and more are nice reliefs to all the kinks of your stressful life.

6. Take a vacation.

We all need a break sometimes. It's great to get away, whether it's in the mountains hiking or sipping on pina coladas at the beach, vacations are important.

7. Go for a drive.Driving is great for stress reliever. Sometimes you just need a few minutes to get away and listen to some pop music to get you pumped.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
