We all have that one friend who is always single. They'd rather be single than deal with the daunting task of being in a relationship. In my friend group that is me. Take it from a girl who doesn't care to not settle down right now. The single life is the way to go in my book. Why be tied down when you can literally do what you what, when you want?
In today's world everyone is always asking, "Why don't you have a boyfriend yet?" "Do I need to help you?" "Do you really always third wheel?" Why cant I just be happy being single? Why do I have to have a boyfriend? I happened to scroll across this quote;
"Dear girls, don’t worry if you’re still single. God is looking at you right now saying,'I’m saving this girl for someone special."
This is how our society should see girls that are single. That they aren't rushing into relationships just because it has become the norm. They are waiting, just letting God do the work so that they end up with their future spouse that God has planned for them.
You have to learn to accept the fact that being single isn't the end of the world. You have to be happy with yourself. Before you can be happy with yourself, you have to take the time to become comfortable in your own skin. Love each and every flaw, because there are not enough flaws in the world that could ever mask your beautiful heart.
You have to be confident in the person you have become, through all the heartbreak and problems of this world. Everyone finds confidence attractive. When you become so invested in yourself that another person cannot even begin to dictate the way you feel, that's when you know that you have officially found yourself. This is also the time to be as selfish as you want, without hurting people. You have no commitment and no restrictions with what you want to do and who you want to be. As long as you have yourself together, who cares? Go out on the weekend, dress up for yourself and don't feel guilty for doing what makes you happy.
Song of Solomon 3:5 says, "I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases." This verse should stick with every young christian female. You should not force a relationship. What's the best way to do that? Enjoy being single! Live life how you wished you could have while you weren't single. Once you have come to terms with being single, you will realize it is actually really fun.
Being single doesn't mean you are missing out on anything. It just means you are in a different stage of life than your friends that aren't single. Through this, I've come to the conclusion that being single is the best time in a young adults life. You might not find that person right now, but that's okay. Look forward to that day when you find that special someone. Someone who will treat you like the queen you are. Until that day comes, enjoy being the single one of the group.
