Having been in college for a couple of years I have learned a thing or two about how to be a prejudiced human being. I have learned how to ignore my classmates who are different than me, be offended by anyone with a strong political opinion and of course, how to approach the topic of racism with minimization: “I’m not racist. I never act like that.” However, as I continue my education I have discovered that there are three, very critical, very specific themes to include when being prejudiced. Therefore, if you really want to identify as a human with no dignity or compassion here are the top three traits of prejudice as identified by an expert:
Ignorance.
One of the most classic examples of prejudice is to be ignorant about the topic you are discussing. Simply form an opinion about something you know nothing about and continue to repeat propaganda you have heard about said opinion. It shouldn’t be complicated. This is what we have social media for.
Irony.
This is my personal favorite. Make all of your prejudice arguments sound really ridiculous coming from you. For example, if you want to be sexist, it would be best if you live with your hard-working mother who has a sense of self-worth. If you would like to be racist, it would be to your prejudicial advantage to work under a boss of a different race who does not still live with his mother. Tear down government welfare, especially if you are living in someone’s basement. Attack homosexuality while ruining your marriage. Those kinds of things
Dishonor.
Above all else, make sure any prejudice that comes out of your mouth comes from a place of dishonoring other human beings. In everything that you do be ungrateful, unkind and unaware of the pain that others around you are experiencing. This would be best if you could make it clear on outlets such as Facebook and Twitter that you hate a person or people for no good reason. Furthermore, give bad reasons for your hatred. The combination of all of this will ensure that you properly use prejudice to dishonor other humans.
A common mistake made by the amateur bigot is that they forget to include all three concepts into their proper prejudicial argument against the existence of other human beings. Often certain groups or organizations will only include ignorance and dishonor, or dishonor and irony. It is important to get the most out of your hatred that you include each and every one of the above concepts. Make sure you have chosen uninformed arguments, made irrational statements that you are not qualified to make and make it obvious to everyone that you are against certain people, not just their ideas or life choices.
This last part is perhaps the most important element of prejudice. Whatever you do, be mindful that an essential aspect of prejudice is the unconditional intolerance of other people.
