Summer is still not over and there is still time to head to the beach before the fall season kicks in. It's finally time to get that golden sun kissed tan, or tomato-burnt red before the summer is over! However, getting prepared for the beach can be a little hectic.

So if planning to go to the beach for the whole day, it is best to be prepared.

Here are some helpful tips to be beach prepared:

  • Bring Beach Towels

  • Extra clothes for the way back home
    • I have been in beach situations where I had to drive home in wet sandy clothes, it is not fun and I did get sick the next day.
  • Bring sunscreen!
    • It is also good to apply sunscreen after every couple hours if you’re trying to avoid getting sunburnt.
  • Bring food if you’re going to be at the beach all day!
    • Not only is it cheaper, but also you can pull out the snacks anytime you’re hungry! You will not have to get off the beach and look for food.
  • Bring easy food to pack.
    • Obviously do not pack a five-course meal in your picnic basket. Bring foods such as, sandwiches, pasta, watermelon, and chips. Any meal that is easy to carry and easy to make.
    • Bring plenty of water and drinks!
    • Bring Utensils, plastic products, and napkins!
  • Do not eat on the beach!

    • The last time I ate on the beach, I got attacked by those vicious seagulls, which are not afraid to take a sandwich right out of your hand.
    • It is best to eat on a picnic beach that most beaches provide before entering onto the beach.
  • Bring a small bag so everyone can put his or her personal belongings in, without getting wet.
    • Only put a few things in the bag such as, keys, phones, and wallets.
    • Make sure to keep the bag in a safe hidden spot.
  • Bring cash.
    • some beaches have parking on the beach.
  • Bring the essentials:
    • sunglasses, sunscreen, towels, and extra clothes.
  • Bring beach chairs or blankets so you do not sit on the hot sand.
  • Being plastic bags for garbage and for wet clothes.

Last but not least get a great tan, hop some waves, take selfies, bury each other in the sand, and have a fantastic way to end the summer!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
