There are certain TV shows, such as The Walking Dead and Orange is the New Black, that can captivate an audience. Sure they bring amazing ideas and plot twist, but they don't compare to Shameless.
Shameless is the dysfunctional out, insanely hilarious counterpart of the U.K version, which aired from 2004 till 2013. This show centers around the dysfunctional family of the Gallagher's and their neighbors Kevin and Veronica. Frank, who you'll grow to like and hate, is the alcoholic in the family. He is also has his narcissistic ways of trying to get money to fuel his addiction. Fiona is the oldest of Frank's kids, and she is the "mother" of the household while trying to juggle her love life. Next is Lip, who is the brainiac bad boy of the family and his brother Ian, who is trying to get in the military. Following along the family line is Carl, who is a sociopath (in my opinion) who is considered "satan" in his school. Then we have Debbie who is about the same age as Carl. Don't let her generosity fool you because she has a few nasty tricks up her sleeve. Finally, the last member of the family is baby Liam, who is just there.
Throughout the show, the family gets into situations that even I found implausible, mostly because of how crazy this show is. I'm not kidding, watching this show is like if Jackass had a long lost cousin. Its one of those shows that you sit and think of how dysfunctional it can get, but when you think the worse is over; there is always something to top it. What's really funny was that a couple of years ago I watched the pilot episode of the show but wasn't interested in it due to me thinking that it was some boring rom/com series...boy was I wrong. Im on season two right now and the show is currently making an eighth season thats coming out soon. I highly recommend this show if you're a senior in high school or if your in college, because I wouldn't want to explain to my parents as to why I was watching this show when I was in middle school (be smart kids).
