Who doesn't love Thanksgiving?! Personally, I love Thanksgiving like Kanye loves Kanye.... maybe even more! Below I listed 10 things you can start doing NOW that will help prepare you for the upcoming holiday feast:
1. Limit your daily food intake. You'll want to save as much room as you possibly can for all the Thanksgiving food you'll be enjoying!
2. Locate your alarm clock. While it may be tempting to sleep in, you'll regret sleeping through all the Thanksgiving parades that occur on Thanksgiving morning. Besides, they only happen once a year.
3. Brush up on your football skills. Thanksgiving and football go together like peanut butter and jelly. Learn the lingo so you're not completely lost during Thanksgiving conversations.
4. Accomplish something big..... like right now. To avoid any awkward/uncomfortable conversations with your family such as, "How are your grades?" or "Why are you still single?" accomplish something big so that you'll have something that'll divert these questions. Maybe you can save someone from a burning building or discover the cure for cancer.... just do something big enough to distract them from said questions!
5. Buy yourself a pair of pants with an elastic waistband. This way you can eat as much as you possibly can with optimum comfort.
6. Locate all of your Tupperware containers. Being a broke college kid who lacks cooking skills, Thanksgiving is practically the only real meal I eat all year long. Every year when I travel back home for the holiday, I always make sure to pack as much of my Tupperware containers as I can so that I can enjoy the leftovers when I return back to school and have actual options to eat other than Ramen.
7. Save your money. Two words: Black Friday.
8. Watch all of the "Friends" Thanksgiving Specials. Trust me, they'll help you get into the Thanksgiving spirit!
9. Volunteer. What better way to celebrate the season of giving than to give back to the community?! Volunteer opportunities are available everywhere!
10. Count your blessings. While it's easy to get caught up with all of the delicious Thanksgiving food, make sure you take time and give thanks for all that you're blessed with.
Whose ready for Thanksgiving?!?!
