How To Stay Positive

It is more than just a frame of mind

How To Stay Positive

The reason you clicked on this article is because you, like many others, are actively seeking out ways to stay positive in your life. Right? Well, don’t feel outnumbered because if you look online there are hundreds of articles out there that aim at trying to make you happy. For example, many articles will suggest that losing weight will make you happy. Maybe even getting a new haircut or, better yet, how the right man will make you more positive.

Well, although these are all great reasons to better yourself and make you see the positive things in life, it does not really fix the inside, does it?

For a long time, I faked a smile and would even fake happiness to avoid explaining to people what I was going through. I didn’t want to be a burden and I did not want to waste people’s time by telling them the wrong in my life. Instead, I just kept it inside.

First off, don’t ever do that because you will feel worse than you were before. Don’t lie to people to make them stop talking to you because honestly, that person genuinely cares about your well-being.

Recently, after graduation, I started to take time out of my day to work on myself. I started actually going to the gym instead of saying I was going to the gym. I started wearing less make up just to see what I actually look like. Nevertheless, I started to see a side of myself that I haven’t before.

Like you, we are all made and created beautifuly through God. Our parents may or may not have kicked in a few chromosomes or two, but God had every intention of who you will be. To every flaw in your personality to that weird mole on your neck, you were created to be that person. Whether you refuse to accept it or not, these were the cards that you were given.

It has taken a few months, with the help of others, to see that being positive is actually a gift. So you spilled some of your coffee on your brand new shirt, does that mean that the rest of your day is ruined? No, not at all. As a matter of fact, the hardest thing I have ever had to do was to reframe my mind to be positive instead of negative.

You can try the new workout routine to stay positive or even eat five bananas this week to stay healthy, but there is no study guide on staying positive. It is a trial and error technique that you have to figure out and once you do, everything else will fall in to place.

You have to learn to love the body you’re in, love the flaws in your personality, laugh at how you are on a first date and just ultimately enjoy who you are. It is a hard thing to do but it is something that grows to become confidence.

If you stay positive and reframe your mind to something positive, your outlook on life will change. You will finally hear the birds singing as you walk out to your car. You will be able to see that life is way too short to hate who you are. The amount of time you have on earth with your friends and family should be spent in the best way possible, being positive.

If you are to take anything away from this article, I hope that it is a wake-up call that you, the reader, can understand what is at stake. It is more than just an attitude change, it can depict how you spend the rest of your life. It is your choice.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
