Pokemon Go : Bringing People together!
When I first started playing Pokemon Go I had no clue how huge this would be. Last Saturday my two friends and I decided after a nice meal to go to a poke stop and set up a modeler lure. Well not even after 5 minutes of placing it this car came up and parked with 5 huge gym guys. We of course didn't care and continued playing, that was until they pulled out their phones and said " Yo there is a eevee here man!". The instant that happened my faced lit up and we ended up talking to them for at least 30 minutes until the lure ended. That isn't even the best one, the next day me and my friends were walking to church when we walked up on a man and a little boy , he couldn't of been more then 8 years old, leaning over and both were laughing and smiling. Upon approaching them the man turned to me and gave me a big smile and only said " Pokemon?". I smiled back and nodded while the boy look at me with the same eyes I had when I caught my first Pokemon in Pokemon Blue saying " we just caught one now! and we already have two other ones!". After that I seriously had to hold me back from tearing up a bit knowing that something that brought me so much joy when I was 10 could bring the same joy to a kid now when I am 24. After holding my emotion in I smiled at them gave them a congratulations and wished them luck on their journey.
That is what Pokemon and Pokemon Go are about, the small interactions. If i could type out all the interactions I had with people as me and my friend walked through the city it would be way over the limit on my article. When I play Pokemon Go , heck whenever I just walk down the street i now check how people carry their phones and if i see someone playing it i will say hi and offer advice on a rare Pokemon I happened to have seen earlier. This is the reason i play Pokemon Go and i hope it will just grow and grow with more updates and fixes to the game , However not everything is fine in the kingdom there is one thing that has been growing behind the scene that Pokemon Go has brought and we have not seen anything so vial since Avatar the last air-bender aired on TV!
Pokemon Go : The War of 3 Nations
If you have been on the internet at any point in the last two days you know what i am about to mention. well when I got on Facebook on Sunday I thought to myself , wow if go is bringing so much to the real life what could i be doing to the virtual world? Needless to say i was way to optimistic for my own good! See In go you can join 3 different clans they are called Mystic (Blue) Valor (Red) and Instinct (Yellow). which i thought was a great idea to have in the game since this would add friendly competition to the game but what came was so off of what I thought. When I got on my Facebook i was greeted by memes and memes of anti Valor or anti Mystic all over Facebook, and not just for laughs some people despised each other making jokes and threats I have not heard since Halo 3 was the popular game. This made me sad since I was so excited and since i am such a heavy Internet user i found it everywhere. This isn't just friendly fights but to the point where people are driving all over the place to take gyms and laugh and taunt the other clans. this was obvious to me who was leading this charge, the trolls, since they have done this multiple times before in other games such as halo 3 and other clan based games. However it isn't all them since everyone is jumping on and once everyone got a taste of it they wanted more. Even if this is all in good fun this does not change how much this alters that game, since now it is a matter of time before the competitive people kill the game for casual people. I have hope still that this wont change the fun it brings to much and people will hold to the fun of nostalgia.
