With midterms upon us the stress and pressure of college life is once again upon us and with the start of spring break only a short week away it makes attempting to study for midterms even more difficult. This week i set aside an evening to get some serious studing done, and this is how it went....

4:00PM- Set out notebooks, textbooks, study notes and blank flashcards

4:30PM- realize I won’t be able to properly study without some snacks

4:45PM- I drive to the mini-mart and purchase Mountain Dew and Cheese Puffs

5:00 PM- Return from store and consume study snacks

5:15PM- Realize my hands are covered in cheese dust and I need to wash my hands in the bathroom so I don’t get my notes all cheesy

5:30PM- While washing my hands realize how spotty the bathroom merrier is

5:45PM- Clean the bathroom mirror, then realize how dirty the rest of the bathroom now looks in comparison to the super clean mirror

6:00PM- 9:00PM After I cleaned the entire bathroom I decided I might as well clean the rest of my apartment since I have all of my cleaning supplies out.

9:15 PM I look at the clock and realize how late it is already. I need to start to study.

9:20PM- 1:00AM Decided to turn the TV on for some background noise while studying. Crack textbook open, end up only paying attention to Netflix for several hours

1:15AM- Finish an entire season of some stupid show. Realize once again how late it is and that I still haven’t started studying

1:30 AM spend several minutes freaking out at how little time I now have left to study

2:00AM Decide I’m too tired to have any meaningful studying done at this hour

2:30AM Lay in bed staring at celling wondering how I wasted so much time not studying

5:00AM – Startled awake by a bad dream about failing a midterm because I didn’t study

5:15 AM- Make and drink four cups of coffee

5:30AM- Decide to once again attempt studying

5:45AM- realize my cat is fast asleep on my closed textbook

6:00 AM- Take several picture cute pictures of cute cat sleeping on assignments and send them on snapchat

6:30AM Decide you’ll apologize to the cat and push her off your books

7:00 AM decide to drive to school to get some studying done

7:30 AM Stop at Dunkin Donuts and get an extra-large French-vanilla iced-coffee

8:00 AM- Get to school and decide to check e-mail before I start studying

8:15 AM Read an email from the professor reminding us that this midterm has been postponed until after spring break

8:16AM- Smile

8:30 AM drive back home to go back to bed

4:00 PM remember you have several other midterms that are still this week. I get out my no0tebooks and textbooks and index cards

The End

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
