Turn your fitness passion into your fitness profession

You are passionate about fitness and the way it changes your body and mind. And this passion of yours puts your life into a new perspective because it offers the opportunity to choose a career path you love.

Some people catch the fitness bug early, but some, like you, discover they love to spend their time in the gym after they already chose a profession. When you first stepped into the gym, you didn't find fitness as more than a way to spend your free time and maintain their health. But as you discovered exercises and new ways to train your body, you also found a love for fitness, and lately, you've often thought about following a career in the industry. But should you do it? Should you turn your passion into a profession? Can you become successful in the fitness world?

You are not alone in the fitness industry, and you'll never be. Millions of people are passionate about fitness and health, and they follow the same career path as you do. So, where do you start? Should you go back to school to get a degree?

You can get back to school, or you can get certified as a personal trainer. By going back to school, you earn a degree and learn about exercise physiology, anatomy, and biochemistry. But it takes at least two years to graduate, costs thousands of dollars, and doesn't prepare you for the daily training people need when they hire your services. Getting a certification implies lower expenses, earns you a certificate most employers recognize, and you learn enough about physiology and anatomy to feel competent enough to train your clients.

Once you build a strong educational foundation, it's the moment to commit to a lifetime of personal development and learning because you step into an environment in continuous improvement. Enroll in classes, read books, join internships, and earn more certifications to diversify your portfolio. There is no straightforward way to success, but hard work can take you there. Geek out about advanced training for different people, learn about hormonal issues, soft-tissue therapy, nutrient timing, and diet techniques. People are unique, and each requires a different approach to meet their goals.

Can you make a living from personal training?

The salary you get as a fitness professional varies across the industry. If you wonder how much do personal trainers make? You have to consider the multitude of variables and factors that influence your earning potential. Your location determines how much you make, and we're not talking about the population size but the population density. Your credentials and qualifications also influence how much you earn because most gyms work only with qualified personal trainers.

So, to answer your question, you can make a living from personal training, but you must meet the above conditions.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
