1. You might have spent the week in your dorm or apartment, relishing in a few precious days of peace and quiet. Or you went home to stay with your family and relax.

2. Because trying to plan a trip with a couple of close friends was more stressful than fun and most of them had plans anyway.
3. Chances are they're as reclusive as you and would rather go home and snuggle with their dog, which is what you probably wound up doing as well.
4. And let's be honest, you would rather spend the week with someone who won't interrupt you or cause anxiety.
5. We all recharge from the stress of school and final exams differently, and the thought of socializing with shit-faced strangers actually gets you more stressed than any Bio 101 exam.

6. You'd much rather share drinks with a couple friends from high school who've already sworn not to judge you for any drunken mishaps.
7. Chances are you're still tight with a bestie from high school so you caught up within seconds, as if you never parted.
8. And spent most of the week together watching movies and gossiping about old high school classmates. It's fun to reminisce with someone who gets what it was like.
9. Once you finished the entirety of "Arrow and Flash" on Netflix, binging started to get tiresome.
10. So you resorted to spending time with a little sibling by taking them out to ice cream, which made you nostalgic for middle school where the least of your worries was whether or not your lab partner liked you.
11. You eventually formed this weird, foreign feeling: A homesickness for being surrounded by others your age.
12. You got on social media and scrolled through your peers' skiing, hiking, and traveling adventures,
13. And thought to yourself, "Hey, I should get out there and do something fun, make spring break worth it, you know?"
14. But then as you scanned concerts and events nearby and realized no one was available to hold your hand through the crowds, and the thought became sickening.
15. So you spent a couple hours at Barnes and Noble instead and found books to occupy the rest of the week, which made you realize how much you missed reading for pleasure.

16. But you still kind of wanted school to start already because you have a genuine love for learning.
17. When your textbooks finally arrived in the mail ,you found yourself "getting ahead" by reading one, two...12 chapters.
18. Just as you were getting ready to go back to late night cramming and frantic essay writing, Mom made the best home-cooked meal you've had in months.

19. And you seriously considered dropping out just for home-cooked meals and the ability to hide away in your room when you're feeling overwhelmed.
20. But you were motivated to go back because, even though you lack the space for much needed alone time, it's nice to always have a close-knit group of friends to lean on when you're homesick.
So while you pictured your spring break looking like this:
You often felt like this:
And in reality, it was more like this:
