How Hard It Can Be Going From Corridor To Suite

I was spoiled.

How Hard It Can Be Going From Corridor To Suite

When I first looked at colleges, one of my top criteria was finding a school with decent dorms. Dorm life is difficult enough to adjust to, and finding one that will fit your life into is even harder.

On my first tour of SUNY Brockport, I was shown two different types of dorm living. Corridor, and suite style. Both of them were extremely different and after much consideration, I went with the schools freshly renovated corridor style.

In the corridors, I was spoiled! I had a huge room, with two long beds, big brand new desks and of course all the closet space a girl could dream of. I was also right across the hall from brand new washers and dryers, and the kitchen. It was perfect for me, I was right in the hub of it all living comfortably.

But as freshman year was coming to an end, I knew that I would be having to pack up my luxurious corridor and switch it out for a suite style the coming year. I was super excited about living with all my friends, but I knew that going from my huge room to a smaller space wouldn't be easy. Boy, how right I was.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of moving into my new room. And as exciting as it was, it really was quite the wake-up call. We were placed in a building where the room weren't quite as big as the ones in our neighboring buildings. So small, that in order for everything to fit, our beds would have to be bunked.

Luckily with the help of my mother, we were able to turn my tiny abode into a comfortable living space for my roommate and me to live in. (And it only required one of the desks to be sacrificed!)

Its definitely not an easy switch going from corridor to suite living, but being so close to my friends makes up for it completely. Heres to a new year!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
