Why Change Can Be A Good Thing

Regardless of how hard it may be.

Why Change Can Be A Good Thing
lifehack.org

I'll be the very first to admit that I am the type of person who cannot stand change, whatsoever. Like a lot of people, change makes me anxious because it's usually something you don’t have control over. But I feel as if people misunderstand the fear of change with the fear of transition. Change is something that happens sometimes automatically without our consent, but transition is what we have the power over.

We transition into different ways of life all of the time. And usually this is what scares us the most. We have the power to transition throughout life-- and that can be a scary concept, because it gives us so much control over our lives. Transitioning throughout is anxiety-inducing because we are taking everything we know and changing it.

But what if things in our lives never changed, and everything was the same way all of the time? We would be bored, useless, and stuck. Change and transitioning is a sign of moving forward. Yes, sometimes change can be bad -- but only for a short period of time. That bad or scary change in your life can sometimes lead to an amazing outcome later on.

So instead of looking at change and transitioning throughout life as a scary, stressful concept, we should celebrate it. We are moving forward, learning, and experiencing life. We are becoming a more well-rounded individual, and that should be celebrated.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
