You're finally home—and thank the Lord, because finals almost killed you.
What now?
1. Relief
First, you have to take a moment to breathe. The past week has been hell. You feel malnourished, sleep deprived, and just a little bit insane. But then you pull into your drive way, and you walk in through the front door, and it smells like—home.
2. Sleep
Yeah, you weren't kidding about the sleep deprivation thing. You grab a pillow, a bottle of water, and say goodbye to your family. They may not see you for a day or two as you catch up on your sleep debt.
3. Fuzzy Family Vibes
Is it just you or have your siblings gotten more annoying since Thanksgiving. Whatever—you still love them. You do your sibling shtick—grumble at your parents, demand the Netflix password from each other (even though no one knows it), delve into deeply hurtful past memories, accuse each other of being the favorite. Ah, good times.
4. Bored AF
It's inevitable. At college, you can go almost anywhere at any time. In fact, that's sort of your routine. Plus, all of your friends are around, so there's never a dull moment. That's not the case at home though. You find yourself baking, and researching how long a human can go without food or water, just to keep from sinking into total boredom.
5. Maddened
Seriously?! Home is great and all but... *breathe* You'd forgotten what it was like to have tons of other people all up in your space. Or, rather--you'd forgotten what it was like to have people you can yell at all up in your space. Which is why when your brother leaves the toilet seat up and you fall in, he's in for an earful.
6. So Satisfied
Even though there's nothing to do, and your sister ate the last of your chips, it's damn good to be home. And you wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
