I love the holidays. Halloween to New Years Eve is the most wonderful time of the year; the weather is amazing, everything smells so good, people are just a little nicer, and christmas music is on the radio. There are some things about the holidays that I just really wish were readily available all year round:
For starters:
The Michael Buble christmas album is pure perfection and I really just wish It was socially acceptable to jam to it all year round. Its impossible to feel less than over joyed when listening to it and that is a feeling I find myself in need of 365 days of the year.
Secondly:
Hocus Pocus is on every night in October and I wish it was like that all the time. Personally its my second favorite movie of all time, I can quote it in its entirety, and it will never ever get old. The Sanderson Sisters are comedic gold that should grace our TV screens every month of every year.
Moving on,
Pumpkin pie is the greatest desert on this earth and I really just want it available to me whenever I want it. Im sure I could get it all year round but it wont be the same pumpkin pie infused with holiday cheer and slathered in whip cream. When fall rolls around everything is pumpkin scented, and all that can go, I don't need that. I just need pies in every grocery store all of the time.
Fourthly:
Christmas lights could and should stay up all year round because they are the best thing about the holiday season. When they are synced up to christmas music? C'mon that is the best. You know those entire neighborhoods who compete to have the best christmas lights? Try being sad while taking a stroll through that lit up christmas suburb, just try, its impossible. So I think it would be good for the whole worlds emotional morale if christmas lights were always up.
Continuing:
Candy. Halloween candy is amazing and then you get to Thanksgiving and you have candied ham and then Candy canes at christmas and everything is just so sweet. I think the rest of the year could use a little more sweetness and I wish that it was a possibility to have everything to be sweet without the health consequences.
Lastly:
All the warm fuzziness that you get this time of year. Halloween is so much fun and Thanksgiving is all about being grateful and thankful and Christmas has a way of making everyone come together and be merry. Those are all things that I wish were always hanging in the air. Personally I think we could use boat loads more fun and gratefulness and family and cheer and I wish we could have it.
So take this holiday season to bask and appreciate all of the blessings you have and all the blessings that come along with this time of year. Happy Holidays
