Christmas is just around the corner. It is the most anticipated holiday of the year! the atmosphere seems to be a little more jolly during this time of year! Here are a list of 11 things to look forward tp during the Holiday season!

1. ABC family's 25 days of Christmas.

Nothing is more exciting than December 1st because ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas movie marathon begins. Movies like Polar Express, Elf and Dr. Seuss's how the Grinch stole Christmas play all December long! Check out the full schedule here!


2. Pillsbury holiday cookies!

Pillsbury holiday cookies are super easy to make and also delicious. They come with all types of pictures on the front of the cookie including snowmen, reindeer and Santa Clause!

3. Picking the perfect Christmas tree.

Late November, early December is the perfect time to get a tree! It's time to brave the cold to go pick out the tree that best fits your house.

4. Shopping!

Christmas shopping is so much fun! There's always excitement in getting someone you love the perfect gift!

5. Presents.


Though it may be selfish to admit it, getting presents is a very fun part of the holidays. Giving presents can be just as great! Nothing is more satisfying than watching someone enjoy your gift to them!

6. Seeing your extended family.

I don't know about you, but my family is crazy together! There's nothing I look forward to more than Christmas day with my cousins!

7. Starbucks Holiday Drinks!


Despite what the cup looks like, Starbucks holiday drinks are something to look forward to! Who doesn't love a Peppermint Mocha or a Gingerbread latte!? Get the full list of holiday drinks here.

8. Mariah Carey's, "All I Want For Christmas is you."


You can't help but to jam out to this classic every time it comes on. Th first note is the beginning to a singing sesh with your best friends!

9. Peppermint flavored everything!


From coffee to Oreo's to Hershey's chocolate kisses, Peppermint flavor is everywhere! I am definitely not complaining though.

10. Ugly Christmas Sweaters.


We all own one, we all love them. Christmas is the one time of year you can wear an ugly sweater and everyone will still love it!



11. Hot Chocolate.

I love cuddling with a blanket to watch Christmas movies with a delicious cup of Hot chocolate!



12. Lights!


Whether you're putting them on your own house, or watching a spectacular Christmas light show...you can enjoy them just the same. Christmas lights make your neighborhood transform in a Christmas town!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
