God bless the Christmas season and the glorious food it produces. It's the time of year where I have time to bake and try new recipes, and basically, gain a good 12 pounds. I've pinned recipes by the dozen on my Pinterest page and some I've baked have turned out as golden and warm as Food Network's delicate creations. I may not the winning competitor on Cupcake Wars, but I'll crack an egg and heat up the oven for almost any recipe that looks as beautiful as these ones below. Check them out and try them yourself. Grab your mom and ask her to help, or grab your kids and make the new holiday treat traditions. These few recipes are sure to be a crowd pleaser and family favorite.

This cinnamon apple oatmeal breakfast casserole took about one hour to prepare and cook all together. Simple, easy, and definitely worth making again. Get the recipe to try your own here.

Alright, the first time I had candied bacon was at my family's reunion this fall and lemme tell ya -- these bacon bites did not last long. It has a syrup-like glaze that is created by the brown sugar, and it's holy moly kinda good. My relative's recipe is similar to this one on Pinterest.

I haven't made this yet, but I definitely plan to. Serve these pimento cheese and bacon mini cheese ball bites as an appetizer to the big Christmas dinner or as a New Year's party snack.

This recipe looks easy enough to make with your kids, and they're sure to love cutting the dough out into different holiday shapes. Find the recipe here.

When you're needing a break from the traditional Christmas dinner leftovers but still want the comfort of homestyle food, try this slow cooker black bean taco chili. It's on my list to make first once I'm home for the break!

What are your favorite recipes to bake this holiday season? Let me know in the comments below so I can test them out for myself and my family before we're all expected to lose the holiday weight we'll guiltlessly gain!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
