A calm Tuesday night with the countless meetings over for the day, my macaroni bowl in my lap and covered with my rainbow blankets, I was excited to finally watch Netflix for the first time in a few weeks. I was not sure what to watch after binge-watching "Kitchen Nightmares," so now I am not sure what to watch with my delicious dinner in my lap.
One of my good friends mentioned "The Office," and now I am on season four after only one week. So, yes, it is like a crush that I cannot stop seeing, I cannot stop laughing without adoring.
My strange love affair with "The Office" now has my social life on hold as I watch the dysfunctional Dunder Mifflin employees become my new best friends and Jim become my crush just because of his dorky smile. He's mine, Pam!
Even though this show is considered outdated because it has almost been five years since the show completed its ninth and final season, Netflix recently introduced this NBC masterpiece of wackadoodles. The comical atmosphere of a stereotypical, plain office job usually does not attract people because of the supposed mundane atmosphere.
This is not the case!
You gotta admit, "The Office" is a pretty clever show just because it spins off what is supposed to be a 9-5 grind job. But if I was hired at Dunder Mifflin, I would probably be in heaven just for the fact that I get to deal with a crazy boss who I can irritate the crap out of and just sit back and enjoy the chaos that comes with this wonderful occupation.
Well, I may be using sarcasm, but having an office job is a bit redundant, but if your boss is anything like Michael Scott, then you will never know what work you are getting done or how in the hell you are going to get it done by attending beach outings, a random safety training that involve jumping off a 6-story building, or just having a daily sexual harassment lesson.
Since I now work at an office job, I feel like I can relate to this show more because I know the mundane atmosphere that it depicts. Ever since I started working there, I feel that I can no longer have random outbursts that I complain about certain customers that are unruly, or just having moments where I can be silly(which is hard to do in a skirt, boots and a blazer). Don't get me wrong, I have no problems at my job, I love being able to sit down, have a snack and a caramel frappe, and just answer appointment calls, but working at Dunder Mifflin, I could let some of my random energy out!
