To My High School Best Friends

Dear High School besties,

First off—I miss you like crazy. Even though we still manage to make time for each other when we are home on our breaks, I miss us. Remember the start of 9th grade when we first became best friends because we bonded over something like your ridiculous ringtone? Or when we discovered that we should be partners in biology? I remember. Those were the key points to the start of our crazy friendship.

I never really had the chance to thank you for being my best friend in high school. You were there for me when I went through my first breakup, when I learned how to drive, when we went on a trip without our parents, and when I did something crazy rebellious. Then again, we were there for each other. What about that very first time we got drunk at a party and thought we were so cool and then got caught sneaking back in, which wasn't so cool. Or when you drove over the boulder in my front yard and I convinced you the car sounded fine. All those crazy times, we tackled together. No matter what we did, we supported each other.

All those things that we did together in high school and all of the memories we took to college are memories that I will forever cherish. High school was one of the best times of my life and it's because of you. The countless memories of driving with the windows down jamming to rap music, from staying out late with each other talking for hours or trying to find every possible excuse to cut class and go to the mall.

We were through it all. And although we graduated and went to different schools, our friendship has not changed one bit. As we grew from the start of our teenage years to become almost adults, you helped shape me into the crazy person I am today. I'm so thankful I had a friend like you by my side. I'm so glad that we still manage to find time to see each other-- whether we visit each other or just see each other when we're home. High school would not have been the same without you and I'm so happy that we experienced everything together. Here is to many more years to come bestie!

With love,

Your high school best friend.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
