A Letter To My Best Friend

To my best friend,

Thank you for everything. Even though you live pretty far away, you've managed to be my No. 1 support system throughout this entire summer. Meeting you on bid day was probably the best thing that has happened to me, and I am so grateful for you. You're always just a face time, or 48-minute drive away, and it's amazing.

Thank you for listening to my insecurities every time a boy doesn't act exactly the way I want him to act. Thank you for bringing me back down to earth when I get a little too self-confident. Thank you for always having your door open for me and the endless conversations we have about everything. It's funny how I've known you for six months and yet I'm closer with you than people I've known my entire life. I could literally drive around with you listening to Drake and have the time of my life. You do my makeup without question and help pick just the right outfit every single time. If it weren't for you, I honestly don't know who my best friend would be right now, and honestly I don't really want to know. Whenever something small happens to me, you're the first person I tell and I love it when you tell me the good things that happen to you, too. I know that no matter what happens I'll have you by my side rooting me on.

Our friendship has just begun, but we have a lifetime of memories to make from it. Thank you for being my rock in an oh-so-unstable world. Thank you for listening to Pop Style 17 times a night and not complaining once. You real for that. Thanks for not making fun of me for listening to G-Eazy. I appreciate that. Thanks for watching me dance around your room and not documenting it on Snapchat. But most importantly, thank you for being you. I couldn't possibly ask for a better best friend than you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
