Hey, You! It's Kay: TMI Tag

Because why wouldn't you want to know completely random and useless information about me?

Hey, You! It's Kay: TMI Tag

Hello there, my sweet, savory pumpkin spice lattes! ('Tis the season, am I right?) Today's article, very much like the last, is going to be a bit personal. Sorry about it. You see, my good friend, Kylie, has just joined Odyssey team at her school, and her first article was super rad. In order for her future readers to get better acquainted with her, she did the Too Much Information tag AKA the TMI tag. Seriously, why didn't I think of that when I first joined Odyssey? Whatever. Anyway, following suit of my beautiful, fiery-haired bestie, I, too, am going to complete the aforementioned tag. Now, this sort of thing is usually only done in YouTube videos, but I like to break the rules. So, buckle up, buttercups. You're about to know me way better than you ever wanted to. *sassy, flippy hair emoji*

1: What are you wearing?

Ha. Kinky. I am wearing leggings and a Columbia College Chicago sweatshirt. Comfy. Casual. Reppin' my squad--the usual.

2: Ever been in love?

Yeah. I am truly, madly, deeply in love with powdered donuts and Louis Tomlinson's eyeballs.

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?

Yep, and I do not want to talk about it. Soz.

4: How tall are you?

5'5", I think. I am an aggressively average height.

5: How much do you weigh?

I don't weigh myself too often because I'm trying this new thing where I don't give myself reasons to hate my body, but I would say about 125 lbs.

6. Any tattoos?

No, not yet. But here are some pictures of some that I want to get in the future:

(I loveHarry Potter, so.)

7: Any piercings?

Yessum. I have my triples done in each ear, and I have had my nose pierced four times. It never worked out, so I just stopped trying. Thanks, universe. I'm super happy about that. :-)

8: OTP?

For those of you who don't know, in the modern world, "OTP" is an acronym for "One True Pair." So, my OTP would probably have to be Schmidt and CeCe from New Girl. They are cute as f*ck. Also, that show breathes rainbows and sunshine into my jet black soul.

9: Favorite show?

Obviously, New Girl. But I also really like American Horror Story (season one is life because TATE LANGDON IS A BABE) and Criminal Minds.

10: Favorite bands?

Oh, you already know. One Direction 4 lyfe, b*tches. I also really enjoy 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Fall Out Boy, Little Mix, All Time Low, and a million others. Bands are kind of my thing.

11: Something you miss?

All of my friends. It sucks being the only one who doesn't go to college in Iowa. *sad face emoji* But, I love my school and I still visit my homies, so it's okay.

12: Favorite song?

As of right now, by favorite songs are probably "Hair" by Little Mix, "Love Myself" by Hailee Steinfield, "Home By Now" by Bombay Bicycle Club, "Say My Name" by Odesza, and "What Do You Mean" by Justin Bieber. However, my favorite song of all time ever is either "Diana" by One Direction or "Settle Down" by The 1975.

13: How old are you?

I am nineteen. A very unexciting age, I know.

14: Zodiac sign?

LEO, LEO, LEO. LEOS UNITE. I TAKE MY ZODIAC SIGN SO SERIOUSLY. DON'T MESS WITH ME ABOUT THIS.

15: Quality you look for in a partner?

Well, I'm not exactly looking for a partner right now, but I do have a bit of a crush on a boy, if that counts. If I am answering this question based on qualities that I see in him, I would say that I like honesty, a sense of humor, and a kind heart. A guy who can make me laugh, isn't afraid to be himself, cares about others, and is always straight up with me is a-okay in my book.

16: Favorite Quote?

"Sound is the same but its expression through various instruments is different. So it is with being."

17: Favorite actor?

Emma Watson, hands down. She is talented, intelligent, caring, beautiful, and she is such a strong advocate for equality. Also, I am Harry Potter AF. #HufflepuffOrBust

18: Favorite color?

Black, beige, or dark brown.

19: Loud music or soft?

It definitely depends on what mood I am in, but, for the most part, I like it loud. (LOL)

20: Where do you go when you’re sad?

I like to just walk around wherever I am and listen to music. Anywhere except for like, where I live. I just need to get away when I am upset about something.

21: How long does it take you to shower?

Twelve years, basically. And by "twelve years," I mean about forty-five minutes. I take the longest showers ever.

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

Five minutes. I am lazy and ugly as hell. (Jk, I am hot and so are you. Don't ever down-talk yourself!)

23: Ever been in a physical fight?

Not a real one, no. In middle school, though, my best friend, Melanie, and I kind of got into a fight. It was so dumb. Hahaha. Ask me about it.

24: Turn on?

Jeez. Whoever made these questions up is super inappropriate! Uh, if we're talking physical, I like nice hands (HARRY STYLES' HAND OH MY GOODNESS JUST WRAP THEM AROUND MY NECK PLEASE AND THANK YOU) and I like nice back muscles.

25: Turn off?

The only physical turn off that I have is smoking. Gross.

26: The reason I joined The Odyssey?

I love to write about anything and everything. The Odyssey is such a vast and creative network. I love the people that I've met, I love the creative freedom that I am given, and I love the feedback on my writing. It's just, overall, a great experience.

27: Fears?

Oblivion. Yes, I, like Augustus Waters, fear oblivion. "I intend to live an extraordinary life. So, if I have any fears, I guess it would be to not do that."

28: Last thing that made you cry?

I'm pretty sure I cried a little this morning because I found out that the boy I like doesn't like me back. Life is great.

29: Last time you said you loved someone?

I just texted my mom a few minutes ago and told her that I loved her!

30: Meaning behind your name?

My mom just heard it one day and named me it. I hate it, but whatever. *side-eye emoji*

31: Last book you read?

I think it was Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I highly recommend it. I read a lot of online books, though. Does that count? If it does, I am in the middle of like, seven. Hahaha.

32: The book you’re currently reading?

Too many. Mostly fanfiction. (Refer to answer above)

33: Last show you watched?

I think the last show that I watched, or, rather, rewatched was season one of American Horror Story.

34: Last person you talked to?

Kylie Boo.

35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

Ky. She's my other half, basically.

36: Favorite food?

This is the most terrible question in the history of terrible questions. I'm going to have to say bacon, though. I also really like bagels and cream cheese.

37: Place you want to visit?

I would really like to visit Iowa State again sometime soon. All of my best friends go there, and it's just a beautiful campus and a fun time.

38: Last place you were?

I was just shopping on State Street in Chicago, actually.

39: Do you have a crush?

Yeah, I do. And, let me tell you, it hurts my soul. I'M FINE, I SWEAR. :) :) :) :) :)

40: Last time you kissed someone?

Last weekend.

41: Last time you were insulted?

My roommate, Kayla, insults me every day, so probably this morning. I love her, though! It's all in good fun.

42: Favorite flavor of sweet?

Raspberry, for sure.

43: What instruments do you play?

I can play the alto saxophone and I can sing. But I suck at playing my sax, so does singing count?

44: Favorite piece of jewelry?

This necklace that I bought in my home town:

(I don't know why it's sideways, but I am too lazy to fix it. Not sorry. Also, it says "mermaid" because I am a mermaid.)

45: Last sport you played?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I do not sport.

46: Last song you sang?

"Love Myself" by Hailee Steinfeld. I LOVE ME. I LOVE MYSELF, I DON'T NEED ANYBODY ELSE. HEEEEEY!

47: Favorite chat up line?

Oh gosh. I have no game, whatsoever, so I don't have an answer.

48: Have you ever used it?

Obviously not.

49: Last time you hung out with anyone?

Today, actually. My suitemates and I did some shopping downtown. I love those crazy ladies.

50: Who should answer these questions next?
Literally, anyone. I would love to hear everyone's answers to these questions. Thanks for reading, by the way. I really hope that you enjoyed this article, and don't think that I'm super uninteresting. See you when I see you. Stay rad, stay bad.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
