An Open Letter To My Dogs

Dear Babies,

First off, I would just like to thank you for always being my best friends. People may make fun of me for viewing my dogs as my best friends and my family, but you're the only ones that are there, no matter the circumstances. You light up my world. I hope you guys know how much I value you. I would never want you guys to pass without knowing how much I truly love you, and how bright you make my life. I could not exist without either of you. So, here are only some of the reasons why I love you more than anything (because if I listed everything, the list would never end), and why I could not imagine my life without you.

I love that around you guys, I never have to eat alone.

I love that I could easily submit you guys into puppy modeling and make millions off of your looks.

I love that you're both the biggest goofballs, and the craziest puppies at heart.

I love that I have a workout buddy no matter the hour.

I love that I see parts my personality (and sometimes my looks) in both of you.

I respect that you don't bite me when I try to take pictures with you, absolutely against your will.

I love that you'll give me kisses whenever, without any reason.

I love that when you visit me at work, it's the best visitor I could ask for.

I love that you are the most lovable guard dogs I could ask for. Even though you would realistically lick a bad guy to death before even biting him, I always feel safe around you.

I love that you two are my definition of "best friend goals."

I love that you still play with each other every day.

I love that I have been around to see you both grow.

I love that I view you as my own, and would do anything it takes to keep you safe.


Even though I know our time together will inevitably come to an end, I want you to know that the time we do spend together here on earth has changed me for good. With so much pain and cruelty in the world, you guys truly are the light in my life that makes me realize that there truly are pure and happy beings left in the world.

You give me all the reason in the world to be happy. I don't know how people without dogs live their fullest lives, because without you two, I couldn't live mine.

I love you more than anything. Thank you for making my life all it can be.

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
