When you think of siblings, the image of arguing and bickering would usually pop into your head. Well, I was born last out of three and have two older brothers. Most people when reading that could be like, “Wow two older brothers?! That must be so rough being the only girl.” To answer that, it is honestly not as bad as it seems.
Growing up with my two brothers, I basically just did everything they did. I didn’t really know what else to do. I would see them playing with Pokemon or playing video games and I would just automatically want to join; I mean hey, who likes being left out? We played a lot of video games and we spent a lot of time outside.
Now before I continue with all of the good things of my brother and I’s relationship, there was definitely some interesting times. Of course being the youngest and being the girl, I stereotypically through “fits” when things didn’t go my way. I was young, do you expect little me to know any better? As my brothers got older the fighting increased more because it was that prime time where we were all discovering our likes and dislikes and we began to disagree on certain things. However, I feel as though that is important when growing up with siblings, having your own interests.
I have two brothers, one is 23, the other is almost turning 21. I am 19, so all three of us are still very close. My brother who is is almost 21 is someone I can relate to very well. We have such similar interests and I have always felt like an older sister to him, in a good way. I’m very protective of him; in elementary school and middle school I would do anything I could to make sure no one was giving him a hard time. That role followed into high school as well, until he finally found his place up at a college that fit him well and gave him awesome friends, Arcadia University. My other brother who is 23 is the complete opposite of my other brother. He is into sports, music, and tv shows that my other brother is just not interested. I have a great relationship as well. We watch scary movies together, he used to be my chauffeur, and someone I looked up to when I was playing sports.
Both of my brothers are very close to me, and we intend to keep it that way. We see a lot of siblings who are not as close and barely talk to one another. We couldn’t imagine that. I don’t know who I would pick on! All in all, yeah my brothers and I bicker here and there; however, I love them to death. Here is to you guys, thanks for always being here.
