Now that I have given all of you the basics! Let's now seriously dig in to the juicier parts of Miss USA.

Where to begin.... Oh! I know!

I left you all off with the news about North Carolina having to have a substitute candidate. From the time the ladies checked-in on May 25 until the eve of the pageant, they are pretty much everywhere in Las Vegas! Red Rock Canyon, Top Golf, New York! New York!, in front of the famous Bellagio Fountain, MGM Grand, you name it, they have made an appearance there!

The Preliminary Competition

This is the chance for everyone to get to know all the contestants on-stage. And all the girls have really shown what they got. These young women after the preliminary competition can already say that they have had competed in Miss USA already! A lot of them bragged about that on their Snapchat and Facebook!

For anyone curious what went on, here is a very quick video of the highlights:

I must that say Leah Lawson's spin, step, stare, smile, and hair flip got some kind of a pheromone with it to impress everybody!

Shoutout to Madison Mackeown, Emelina Adams, and Brie Gabrielle for being both so gracious that night!

Haley Sower and Jessielyn Palumbo are both on fire that night! Nice touch, Haley! Capes! But more to that later.

Well, Ned Fulmer really had his way on taking on the highlights that night!

If you want to see the full performance, below is the video. I recommend that you read though the entire first before playing the whole video.

Without further ado, let's fast forward!

The Pageant Day

Let me reiterate, I did not watch the show live but I have sources that live tweets every minute of the action. What I will write below is only based on the tweets that I received and analyzing the replay of the show.

The Red Carpet Event

This event was streamed via YouTube about an hour before the show started. And I should say that it did its magic to lighten up the pressure that might be with the people that will take part in the pageant.

Oh goodness! Those outfits! there's a lot to say! The whole Red Carpet event just gave us inside scoop on some of the judges, contestants, hosts, performers, sponsors, and everybody else that will have active part on the show.

Soft opening.

Before the usual video introduction which features the contestants, the show rather opened in a very light video clip. It was Terrence J asking Steve Harvey for advice about hosting the pageant.

Oh yeah! Who doesn't forget the mishap done by Steve Harvey on announcing the winner at Miss Universe last December? So, read the card carefully Terrence! And do not ever say Colombia even if the person is from the District of Columbia or Columbus, Ohio just like Steve has said! It's a trick, man! It's a trick!

See! Don't!

So, after the humor, we now see the short Audio Video Presentation featuring the contestants answering the question they themselves have posted; Define beauty. The definition of beauty that they had given fitted their individual beliefs and platforms as well as the goal that the Miss Universe Organization intends.

The Production Number

The dress that the ladies worn during the introduction was the same one that they had during the Preliminary Competition Introduction and Red Carpet event.

What was strange about the introduction of the contestants that night was after each contestant introduced herself, Julianne Hough through voice over gave factoids either about the contestant herself or the state she represents.

So allow me to consult Mallory's tweets about it:

And I'll let the video speak for itself!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
