As we approach the holiday of love, you may be struggling with gift ideas for your significant other. Presents are usually pretty difficult for this holiday. There are so many factors as well like: how long have you been together? Do you prefer to do something together instead of gifts? Do you have a spending limit? If you’re stuck in this predicament, I have some ideas for you. Don’t let little baby cupid put a downer on your week.
1. Do Something Together
This is a gift for the both of you with less hassle. There are no shopping trips, no wondering what the other wants, etc. First, you both decide how much money you want to spend for gifts on the holiday. Once you have that agreed on you can choose what you plan to do. This could be a nice candlelit dinner at home, or a dinner and a movie out. You could take a weekend trip to a hotel to spend some alone time together. You could get tickets to your favorite sports team or show. The choices for this are endless. Whatever the both of you enjoy doing, you can go do it together.
2. Buy Something To Resemble Your Love
Depending on if your significant other is into sappy things you could get something cheesy for them. There are some awesome websites to buy customized or unique gifts from. Shutterfly is great to create custom photo gifts. You can import photos of the two of you and create anything from a coffee mug to a calendar or a photo book. BoldLoft.com has some unique gifts as well for couples such as matching mugs. There are also some neat ideas for those in a long-distance relationship. There are bracelets that say “Love knows no distance” at lovingfromadistance.com. This is such a cute way to remember each other a little extra when apart.
3. Gift Baskets
Another great idea is a gift basket. This can be a mixture of your person’s favorite things. These can contain items such as their favorite candy, gift cards to their favorite places, their favorite alcohol (if they are of age) as well as anything else. You can even include clothing depending on your significant other. If you know their size and their style clothes are always a good idea.
4. Do It Yourself
Don’t be afraid to get crafty. Gifts that are handmade are usually people’s favorites. If they know that you put in a lot of effort to make the gift, they’ll appreciate it that much more. If you’re not that creative start small such as picture frames. You can take a mason jar and fill it with different things such as date ideas, or reasons that you love them. Don’t be afraid to use Pinterest as well. On there, you’ll find numerous ideas for DIY projects.
You don’t need to go too crazy. Yes, it is a holiday to celebrate your love, but shouldn’t you do that every day? I’m not saying you should go out and eat once a week to celebrate being together, you don’t even have to spend money. You should be showing your significant other how much you care for them each day.
Keep the love flowing!
