Since the year 2011, television has had some less than quality programming, but this hasn’t caused viewers to move from their seats. Why; because of hope. The hope that one-day television would be just as good as it was in the '90s. Sure we have had some shows like 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and many more but those shows have only held us together for so long. Well, now our time has come. It’s been 84 years (actually 6 but it felt like 84) but television will return to its former glory.
In the next few weeks, television shows begin pilot season and will be cancelled within a few weeks of getting on the air. However, some shows are making a much needed come back to the tube and viewers are ready.
As many people have heard, the NBC sitcom Will & Grace is making a glorious return after the cast reunited to do a 10-minute YouTube special about voting. The series was known for getting topical with social issues that weren’t really discussed at the time.
Director and Executive Producer James Burrows, known for his work on Cheers, Frasier, and Friends, discussed working on Will & Grace and knew that from the first scene of the script it would be a hit. 11 years since the controversial final, Burrows is back to direct the revival series.

The revival will include the entire cast but will not mention the events of the finale, which aired in 2006. The finale is shown over a series of years but starts in 2006 where Grace gets a visit from her ex-husband Leo, who knows she is carrying his child. After this Will comes home and then the episode goes several years into the future.
Grace has a daughter named Lila and has remarried Leo. Will adopted a boy named Ben and his still together with his partner, Vince. Will and Grace haven’t spoken since the events shown earlier in the episode. Meanwhile Jack & Karen conspire to bring the two together and have them reunite. Their plan is successful and soon the episode goes even further into the future.
Will & Grace have fallen out of touch but are still friends. They meet after they find that their kids have met the same way they did; living across the hall from each other in college. After this the episode flashes into the future and reveals their kids are getting married. In the end, they along with Jack and Karen go to the bar featured in the pilot episode. They each have a shot and they look the way they would in 2006.
The episode order for the revival was moved to 16 episodes and was revived for a tenth season. Another show that is going to return to the air is The Munsters. When the show first aired it ran for two seasons with 70 episodes. Seth Meyers is set to produce the reboot series which will air on NBC. No specific air date has been given but the show will make television just that much greater.
In 2018, the series Roseanne will be brought back to ABC after it finished in 1997. Ten years later the show is going to have the same cast including John Goodman. The series will also not acknowledge the ending of the series which shows that Dan, Roseanne’s husband died of the heart attack he had in the season 8 finale.
Though television has had some minor success in keeping people still turning on the tube people are losing a great deal of interest. Streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video have taken away much of the business that used to go to television.
However, these revivals and several new shows just might be enough to bring that business back. Though are we ever going to not watch the television? We love sitting on the couch, whether it's after dinner or all day with a bag of cheese doodles. Either way, television has a place in our lives.
Though, television took a turn for the worse in the early 2010's but is slowly making a recovery that could keep it from being lost entirely. Although some television shows are the absolute worst and may even be just rotten; it seems as though we have a place in front of the tube for a long time.
