You think you love him. You think he's everything you've ever wanted. He's your knight and shining armor. Am I getting close yet? What if I told you that you're wrong, that boy you think you love, doesn't love you.
Be aware of the abuse you've come to call love. You might think that just because your boyfriend doesn't hit you that you're not being abused but that's not the case. There are many forms of abuse. Mental, emotional, and physical. Threats, put-downs, violence, it all is in the same category. Don't fool yourself. Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you isn't a saying you should live by.
You're not allowed to wear your favorite skirt out to dinner with your girls cause it's too short. The make up you're wearing makes you look like a slut. Why would you even get highlights in your hair? Fake. You're favorite shirt is too tight so you're asking for guys to hit on you. You're old best friend Kyle from high school, unfollow him. You're not hanging out with your friends tonight, they fill your head with negativity about him. You better not pick up the same shift at work that Alan is working as well. No one will ever love you cause he's the only one who deals with you. When he gets home from work you better be in the mood because you're having sex when ever he wants. You do whatever he wants whenever he wants. You start to believe the things he says to you, you believe that you're just as worthless as he says you are.
Girl what are you doing! Leave him. Leave behind the sadness and fear. Leave the control. Be yourself, do what you want and say what you want! Your mamma didn't bring you into this world to be told who to be by someone else. Throw on those booty shorts and unbutton your shirt some more. Hit up your boys to go out with you and your girls. Text whoever you want and be whoever you want. Are you living for yourself? Are you being the person you want to be in life? You may think that you can't live without him but I can promise you that you'll live ten times better by yourself. You think that the heart break would be worse then the pain he makes you feel. That pain will last a lifetime with him. The heartbreak will pass.
If you're not going to leave him, I hope that at least you find the strength to say no. No to the commands, no to the rules, and no to the way he treats you. If you're going through any situation like this, remember that you deserve better. You're not who he tells you to be. Your knight in shining armor will arrive and treat you like the princess you are.
