“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of the wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in Heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” – Matthew 18:12-14
This Father's Day, I am thanking my Father in Heaven for all that He has done for me. For all the times that I, His little sheep, have wandered away from Him, and He has pulled me back in.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for blessing me with a day where I am able to not only thank my father here on Earth for all that He does, but for a day where I am able to thank You for all that You do as well. Today is a day where I reminisce back on the times that You have forgiven me for the times I have messed up, for the times where You have guided me through places I dared not go and for the times that You have wrapped me up in Your loving arms when I needed it the most. It is today Father that I thank You for fulfilling the promises You have placed in my heart, for always being there for me, for always loving me and for bestowing upon me the wisdom to live my life according to the way that You have called on me to live it.
If I were to become a millionth of the Father that You have been to me, then I would receive the title of being the World’s Greatest Father. My hope is that Your example of what a Father should be transforms my heart into being the Father You designed me to be. I hope that one day when I have kids, that I am there for them as You have been for me. I hope that when they are going through rough times in their lives, that I am able to guide them in the right direction, to comfort them, and to give them the love and support that they need like that in which You have given me in my life. My ultimate goal is that, as a Father, I am able to lead my children to You, our greatest Father.
Lord, I thank You each day for choosing to take on the responsibility of being my loving Father. You have chosen to take in each and every person as one of Your children, and I am forever grateful. It is such a blessing to be able to say that I am a child of the highest of all highs, a child of the God who can cause the storms to still, and the seas to hush at His command. Father today is a day where I just simply thank You for being You, my Creator, my Lord, my God, my Father.
Happy Father’s Day!
Love one of Your countless children,
Brandon
