Have you ever thought about who you are? Where you come from? Why you were created? How'd you get here? What does that mean for your life? On and on these identity crisis questions flood our minds and hearts. Especially as high schoolers and college students, this world is after our very being. We are constantly battling the different theories for existence and the mediocracy of this time we live in. He said she said. The war over our hearts. The fight of all fights for us to know who we truly are and who's we are. We are heaven-spun.
I am so thankful for heaven-spun creations. The mountains and waves have new meaning as I look at them as being created by the King of Kings. As I realize the greatness and perfected way each wave crashes on the shore effortlessly. Or the way driving through the mountains feels as I am trapped in the middle of the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The leaves falling, crunching under my feet have a new life. My sweet friends are seen as so delicate when seen through new eyes. The strangers become my family as I remember the way my Savior loves them and cares for them. As I stare at the beauty of a sky unaltered by this world with millions of stars as far as you can see, I stand in awe. It is in your face how magnificent and wonderful our Father in Heaven is. These creations have such a way of glorifying our God. How could I not see that there is without a doubt a beautiful creator when I have seen such beauty?
It is easy for me to see the breath-taking wonders of this world. God created this world.. it is all spun in love. Spun in grace. Spun in adoration. Spun in perfect order. Spun in perfect time. Spun in sacrifice. Spun in great purpose. There are no mistakes. There are no throw-aways. There are no give-ups. Jesus changes everything. He changes how we see the outside world, but what if we walked like what we truly were?
You are a heaven-spun creation. Not a mistake or screw up. Not just another person. A creation of beauty and of deep purpose. A person of value. A soul encased in such perfect love. A daughter or son of God. A heaven-spun creation that magnifies the name of our good, good Father. We have been created in such a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus to point others to the goodness of God. To show this world who is questioning our identity and origins that we are truly heaven-spun in the image of a God who is in the business of qualifying the called. That we are created to be spun into something bigger than ourselves, the purpose of our Jesus to fulfill his plans.
