Harry Potter is not only a successful book series or movie series, it is a world people can escape to and become something they never thought they could before. The fictional characters grasp our hearts, and we follow the story blindly and relentlessly, hoping to be submerged into the plot as much as possible. How could a fictional story be so compelling and captivating to millions of readers and viewers?
For starters, J.K. Rowling is brilliant. She thought out so much detail in the story line from the money used in the wizarding world, to the detail of the Hogwarts Castle. Of course, the big screen helped bring to life a lot of the details in the books, but they had to start somewhere. The directors and Producers of the Harry Potter series did a fantastic job bringing the books to the big screen. With this much detail, Rowling created a world that was just a couple of pages away to escape to. It helped people find their individuality, their house, and most of all, Harry Potter helped people find their strength.
Another factor for this series is the intense and detailed components that were put up on the screen. Now, I know the movies weren't completely accurate, but this cant be avoided. However, the movie would bring to life the wizarding world, and make the audience feel as though they too could merely be a muggle born wizard. This series gave hope to people who were going through tough times, gave an identity to those who had forgotten themselves, and make people feel appreciative and heroic.
Harry Potter was great at separating people, and then bringing them back together. Even though there are different houses that have people with different traits, this series is great at bringing everyone together in a time of need. No matter if you were a Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or even Slytherin, the option of coming together was always there for everyone. Most houses enjoyed staying in their little groups, but sometimes there would be people branching out to help the greater good, or even just to make new friends. Loyalty, friendship, reliability, and several other traits are things this series of books and movies possess.
