Whether you are home or going home soon, there are many mixed emotions about heading back to your hometown. When you first leave, you're bound to miss your college friends and lifestyle, but when it's time to come back, you don't want to return to the plethora of work. Winter break is the perfect time to recharge and rest before starting the second semester. There is a lot that happens when you go back home:
1. Transforming into a different person when you return home from college.
2. Rummaging through your closet and putting on all the clothes you didn't bring with you to school.

3. Reuniting with your hometown best friends.

4. Practicing how you're going to convincingly lie to your family when they ask how school is doing and what your plans for the future are.

5. Coming home to your nice warm bed and all your old childhood memories.

6. When you have to ask your parents for money because you blew all of yours at school.

7. Seeing a boy who "matured" in college and is much more put-together than he was in high school.

8. But then facing disappointment after running into the same old guy who didn't change at all in college.

9. Sleeping in your own comfy bed and not a stiff dorm mattress.

10. Seeing old pictures of yourself around the house and not being able to understand how much college changed you.

11. During the holidays when all your family gathers and tries to tell you what to do with your life, and you just have to sit through it.

12. Not being used to having your parents around and, when your mom tries to help fix your problems, unnecessarily flipping out.

13. When your best friend reconnects with a guy she had a thing with in high school, and you have to remind her that she is going back to school and none of it will matter in a few weeks.
