He is my President

An Open Letter

He is my President
Donald Trump

Election day has passed and I believe that this was one of the most important elections of my lifetime and even the most important in American history. Despite all of the controversy that has occurred under the campaign of Donald J. Trump, he is our new president-elect.

Starting the day after the election the United States has been in an uproar with a plethora of protests both violent and peaceful. I may not have a popular opinion but I am not someone who is concerned with how others may perceive me.

I am not happy with the way America is reacting to this election and for those who say "but the same thing happened with President Obama so why should we stay silent," I don't think that as adults playing "even" with each other is very mature. We have to make sure we set the example for each other and no matter how hard being the bigger person may be, love will always win, so as of now it's better to lose the battle and win the war.

I think that no matter how someone treats you, if you are kind and love others with a fury, you will always win. I may not have personally agreed with much of president-elect, Donald Trump's, rhetoric I do have enough faith in the good and decent in this country to expect only the best of whatever is to come. I have to live for me and be happy for me. Sometimes the biggest protest is self-made success.

Donald Trump will have my support even if I don't agree with his prior actions because I have faith in our system, and I have faith that the universe will show his true colors. I will always do my best to see the best in the situations that present themselves to me. So instead of crying and being scared, I'm going to be optimistic in the future and continue to live my life because the only person is this lifetime that will have the best intentions for you is you!

Congratulations President Elect, Donald J. Trump, you have big shoes to fill but I have faith you will flip the script and be great!

Lead by example and let love speak.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
