5 Laughably Torturous Reasons Little Sisters Are Amazing

Sisters are great people and will always be there for you when you need them, once they grow out of the sassy stage of course.

I was given 6 1/2 years of pure happiness and tranquility. Alone, just me and my parents and what a perfect world it was. Until a strange doctors appointment and a noticeably moodier mother. "You're going to have a little sister," they said, and that's when the trouble began.

I was handed a small alien-like thing, and they told me I was a big sister. But throughout the years I've learned so so much. The hair pulling, and the yelling, "Oh what a great idea it was mom and dad!"

Here are 5 reasons why having a younger sister is pure torture.

1. The talking back

Having a younger sister means there is a person sassier than you ever could have imagined. She insists she is always right and even though you are not her mother she talks back when she feels needed. Whether its because she left your room a mess while you were gone, or told mom and dad you did something you didn't she always finds a way to talk back and pick a fight.

2. The not so mean name calling

Growing up with a sister 6 1/2 years younger meant absolutely no cuss words in the house or else her big mouth will repeat them. So when there was fighting she would refer to works like brat, meanie, annoying and buttface.

3. The sassy stage

At some point the younger sister of yours will hit the sassy stage, or as I like to call it the period before the actual period. She will bicker, and scream and always has an attitude. My favorite time of the sassy stage is right after a long day when she's at her peak of sassiness and I like to bribe her with candy, ice cream, and of course the sassiness stops.

4. The clothing stealer

Since going to college tend to come home and notice the lack of clothing in my room. As I make my way over to my sister's room I realize she steals all of my clothing and now claims it as hers. It's not only very annoying but also sad that she's 12 and can fit into my clothing( I'm 18)

5. The " I'm always right" stage

Going along with the sassy stage, this one can make me a little madder. No matter how much you back up the evidence and think you're right, you're never right when it comes to a little sister.

6. The "trying to be the favorite"Being the youngest mean you have more control to act cute, and innocent. Being the older sibling means everything is blamed on you because of the control of the younger sibling.

7. The cat fights about absolutely nothing

Arguments can spark after any possible reason in my house. Whether I took the last cookie or my sister bothers me while im busy the fights can be more dramatic than a movie.

8. The wishing she was older stage

Every little girl dreams of being older and being in control. Well, little sisters might think they are older than they actually are. Sometimes I think to myself, is she the one that is 18?

9.The playdates

Young girls love to have sleepovers, and playdates, right? Well, when you have an 18-year-old sister those playdates are the worst possible thing. The yelling and dance parties tend to drive the older sibling crazy.

10. You don't get along, no matter what

Even though everyone says we will be best friends in the end, at the moment I don't see it happening. The age difference creates such a barrier and just sparks up arguments, and fights. You never know though, there could be hope.

Even after all the fighting and the bickering Ill always have someone to talk to and take for ice cream every now and then. Sisters are great people and will always be there for you when you need them, once they grow out of the sassy stage of course.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
