Why Having A Job Helps My Grades

Focus and a little time management is all I need

Why Having A Job Helps My Grades

Sure, every college kid likes some cash while going to school? It makes getting around and hanging out with friends more fun. Not to mention trying to by textbooks.

While there are many reasons why a college student works while going to class, I like to think that my job helps me get my school work done in a timely manner.

First off, I work a part time job. Not going to lie, the thought of going to school full time and working full time is a little scary to me. I would do it if I had to but I would be pushing my limits in every direction by doing so.

Working means planning ahead. My schedule comes out two to three weeks in advanced so last minute plans are not really a thing to me on the weekends. I like to have my life planned out weeks in advanced anyway so I know where I need to be.

"Yes! I would like to go apple picking! Does two months from today work for you?"

Planners are my life saver. Not that I am a forgetful person, but I am human and sometimes things slip my mind.

I am the type of person who needs to hand in an assignment because I do not like the idea of failing. This means that by fulling my day with another commitment, I have less time to do my homework.

The pressure of it all led me to straight A's last semester and is something that I consider one of my greatest accomplishments.

Not to mention that including this part time job, I also work another one while at school. I am a Teaching Assistant for first year students which requires that I have decent time management skills, planning classes and having things ready on time is important as a teacher. I enjoy this, if not more, than my year round part time job because it is something that I might want to do after I graduate college.

All in all, going to school has helped me with my focus and my time management. I allow myself to get a little frustrated when I find myself doing homework on my breaks. It might be because I was too lazy or because i truly did not have enough time but every time I seem to come out on the better end of things. It may not seem like it when I am constantly running around trying to get work done, but it definitely shows in the end.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
