Having found the person who satisfies my soul, challenges me to be the best person I can be, and accepts the flaws I have, I have a message for those who have not found this person.
Wait.
Wait for it. Wait to meet the person who changes your life in a short time after you meet them. Wait for the person who laughs at your dorky jokes. Wait for the person who smiles when you are being ridiculously stubborn. Wait for the person who makes you feel loved when you do not feel like loving yourself. Wait for the person who is concerned with your concerns. Wait for the person who is willing to watch your favorite childhood movies with you. Wait for the person who makes milkshakes before bed and feeds you constantly just to be sure you're never slightly hungry. Wait for the person who will always save a dance for you. Wait for the person who shows you off. Wait for the person who always kisses you goodnight. Wait for the person who loves you as much as you love yourself.
It is so different to find this person. Many people think they are in love when it comes to past relationships, but when it is real, it will never be "I think." It is as if one second you barely know the person sitting next to you, and you blink and then suddenly you cannot imagine anyone else sitting next to you. You cannot imagine knowing someone in the same way, sharing the same humor, or falling asleep next to anyone else. You cannot imagine it, because you never want anyone else to be in their spot.
God has such a funny way of working. It is always when I am unsure of my future and feel scared because of my past that he brings such wonderful blessings into my life. The key is to wait. That's all. Just wait for him to somehow bring blessings into your life, because He always does. And when He does, thank Him. Thank Him for the beautiful person He created that you get to sit next to. Thank Him for the beautiful person that supports you through anything. Thank Him for the beautiful person who loves you the way that He would want you to be loved.
So go through your wrong relationships. Go through your heartbreak. Go through the breakup that makes you know how you want to be loved. Go through what you need to go through, and then wait.
Just wait for him. Your person is out there. Finding them is such a beautiful gift. The waiting is the worst part. Knowing there is someone out there who does all these things for you makes the wait so incredibly difficult, but having found this person, I promise you, the wait is well beyond worth it.
