In the transition period of stepping from an academic background into the big bad world, we all face times of desperation where we make it the aim of our life to achieve one particular thing/position; it could be a university admit or a dream job. While in the grind for "achieving", we tend to cross the fine line between anxiety and fear.
While it is okay to be feeling anxious about new challenges it is not acceptable to be constantly living under the fear of not being able to succeed or simply ''get'' what we want. And as stupid as this may sound, it is absolutely necessary for each one of us to taste failure at least once in our life.
Here is the reason why I say this:
1. You only fear the unknown
The outcomes can only be as bad as out worst inhibitions. And once we have faced a downfall, we sometimes realise it was not as bad as we dreaded.
2. There is no falling down from here
GiphyOnce you have hit the rock bottom, you know there is just going up from there. It may sound too optimistic for someone who has failed but whatever helps!
3. You win or you learn
when you play the game of life, you win or you learn
(SORRY*100)
GiphyThere are abundant rags to riches stories to teach us that failure and rejection are not the end of the world. Stories of how people hold onto their beliefs and didn't give up until they had what they wanted.
4. You have a great story to tell!
GiphyIt may seem to be like the end of the world to you right now but a couple of years down the line, you'll laugh at the fact that this failure made you cry. Let it reshape you, teach you good things rather than pour in bitterness for a lifetime.
5. The movie - Pursuit of Hapyness
GiphyIf I couldn't still convince you, I guess this is my last resort ! Go watch it!! Now!
If you happen to not get what you wanted to face any rejection in future, don't just ask why me? Try and find out why?
Because I'm sure there's a good reason a better takeaway from it!
