It is never too late to follow Jesus. Nothing you do is "too bad" or "too sinful" for Him. He will always forgive you and love you unconditionally. I have made many, many mistakes over the years. I still make those same mistakes knowing they're wrong and that God wouldn't be happy with them. But, habits are hard to break. I know that God still loves me and He is working on me and helping me come closer to Him and turn things around.
Ask God to direct your steps. Isaiah 48:17 says, "This is what the Lord says, your Redeemer the Holy One of Isreal: 'I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.'" Following His plan isn't always easy, but it is the most important/best decision you will ever make.If you truly believe in Jesus as God's son and that He died on the cross for your sins, you will experience changes in your life-- good changes that will bless you and bring glory to God.
Don't let the world define your fun. Our enjoyment should come from a heart that looks for good. Romans 12:2 says, "do not conform to the pattern of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. then you will be able to test and approve what god's will is--his good pleasing and perfect will." Don't try to fit in with the world, fit in with God instead.
Have confidence in your faith. Joshua 1:9 says, "have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Being different in a world that tells you that you have to look a certain way and do certain things to fit in is difficult, but the end result is greater than you could ever imagine. Everyone may not understand or agree with you and your beliefs, but shine your light on this dark world!!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, "for I know the plans I have for you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart." How cool is it that we serve a God that loves us and cares about us so much that He has our entire life mapped out??? Like all we have to do is choose to follow and believe in Him. That is mind-blowing to me.
I know that I've thrown a lot of bible verses around and some of you may not care or understand them, but the main point of this whole article is this:
1. God's love is unconditional. His love never fails.
2. God will never give up on you.
3. He has a plan for your life, you just have to let Him lead.
4. He heals.
5. He is the source of true joy.
The list is never-ending. All you have to do it choose to follow Jesus and you can live for eternity with Him.
"Holy Spirit you are welcome here. Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere. Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for, to be overcome by your presence, Lord."
