The Rich History Of Sunken City Once Known As San Pedro

And on one fateful day, Jackie took it upon herself to check and found a floating and disembodied head coming right at her.

Sunken in the former hills of San Pedro, California, Sunken City sits on the oceanside and sunny cliffs with broken foundations of former houses that once overlooked the Pacific. The former town has become a place for vandalism such as graffiti, a "romantic" destination for teenagers and a hot spot for underage drinking. Ignoring the no trespassing signs, explorers can find amazing views along with haunted spots throughout the former city.

Back in 1929, a landslide caused the exclusive neighborhood throughout San Pedro to be swallowed into the Pacific Ocean. At times, the land would move 11 inches day (which is a lot if you think about it, like WHOA). At one point during the slide, the adjoining park also fell into the ocean. So, no more play time kiddos.

Our first haunting at Sunken City involves a little girl named Jackie Hernandez. Back in 1989, Jackie awoke in the middle of the night to find an old man, wearing a lumberjack flannel shirt with denim pants and suspenders starring right at her. This wouldn't be the last time the single mother of two would have strange events occurring to her. On one summer morning, she appeared at Susan's door in a panic telling her about a ghost-like figure in her boys' bedroom.

In the previous days, Jackie was hearing strange noises coming from her attic. Susan ended up calling some investigator to Jackie's house since she was afraid to back. They heard loud crashes coming from the attic, and upon checking did not find anything besides dust and cobwebs. And on one fateful day, Jackie took it upon herself to check and found a floating and disembodied head coming right at her.

One investigator also checked on some other places that are rumored to be haunted such as the Warner Grand, he investigated the place three times but came to a dead each time and dismissed the photos people sent him that involved unexplained paranormal.

While there has been numerous floating lights, orbs, and unexplained noises, most people who go to explore or investigate might find themselves short with hard-hitting evidence. But, besides investigating the paranormal, the former town is full of information.

Sunken city is divided into about three parts. The first part or tier includes the top ruins which overlook the Pacific ocean. The second tier is the middle of the cliffs that do have some small trails. And the last tier is the base or bottom of the cliffs that eventually leads to a small little beach area. All the tiers come with their own danger such as falling rocks or slipping off the rocks but the views from each tier are a sight to behold.

So if you ever find yourself in California and wanting a little hiking adventure with some great views, the sunken city is the way to go.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
