The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

If you haven't heard the magically wonderful news, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is now open at Universal Studios Hollywood! The park was rumored to be in the works around 2003 but Warner Bros denied all the rumors.

On May 31, 2007, Universal, in partnership with Warner Bros., officially announced The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be added to Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort. On July 8th, 2014, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at the Universal Studios Florida theme park. The chain of Harry Potter themed areas continued to expand even opening in Osaka, Japan at the Universal Studios Japan theme park.

Finally, the magic came to Los Angeles and just last week on April 7th, the Harry Potter world opened at Universal Studios Hollywood. The main attraction is the fight-simulating ride "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" which incorporates 3D technology. If you weren't some of the lucky individuals who got an early look at the magical world, here are some of the things to look forward to:

Seeing the Hogwarts castle up close


Browsing the shops in Hogsmeade


Getting your wand at Ollivanders

The Flight of the Hippogriff attraction


Riding side by side with Harry in the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride


Dining at the Three Broomsticks


Eating Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and Chocolate Frogs at Honeydukes


Getting your Quidditch gear at Dervish and Banges


Robe Fittings


Sending a postcard from the Owl Post


All the Butterbeer


So dust off your robes, get ready to feel all the feels and remember in the wise words of the genius and creator of the Harry Potter series J.K. Rowling "Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."
