Performing in any way can be a great way to express one's self and abilities in a method that is enjoyable and stress relieving. There are many types of arts to delve into, from music, to entertainment. One that has been getting some traction throughout the years is voice over work. It's easier than ever to get involved with this genre of entertainment for yourself. I, myself, have dabbled into this field for quite a while, and it's one of the most thrilling things I've gotten to do. It's provided me a medium to act and take on the role of characters that would otherwise be voiceless. But one struggle that comes up, is that more often than not, I have restricted myself of many roles because of my faith. God's will is my priority and as much fun voice acting can be, it has many obstacles that can be difficult to be successful voice actor.

One very obvious thing that I don't feel comfortable voicing is if the project touches on adult or inappropriate content. Subjects that cover sex, drugs, abuse, etc. and the glorification of these topics. I want to be able to represent my faith in everything I do. If I end up condoning something that I myself don't agree with, it can end up conflicting people's image of my faith and God in general. This is slowly becoming worse and more abundant since popular media is much more open with content like this, and people are taking a liking to these topics.

Moving on to another struggle of being a voice actor as well as christian, is the community surrounding voice acting. Although personally this isn't a serious struggle, it may be different for someone else. Other actors are really competitive when you're just starting out, and maybe past that. There is a lot of possible conflicts, as well as chances for you to lose future opportunities if you stay firm in your faith. People may disagree with the restrictions you have, or it maybe much harder to get roles that doesn't fly in the face of your morals while others are trying to get as many roles as they can.

Finally, one of the hardest things I have avoiding is finding roles that doesn't have profanity, or lewd speaking, in general. Just like how adult content have started embedding themselves as a norm in the mainstream media, cussing in scripts and different types of entertainment is really commonplace. It's super difficult to find roles that don't speak crudely, whether it's a layman conversation, or setting up for a scene. It's something that I've been graciously been able to work around with certain projects, but have been denied roles all together because of not wanting to use profanity in my lines.

Although these issues are frustrating to deal with, I still find voice acting worth going through it all. Being able to get involved in videos, comic readings, audio books, and the like is very satisfying and enjoying. I've had a blast in the past years I've participated in this field, I've met awesome people and can credited taking part in pretty awesome projects. I don't place these limitations because it's against any "Christian rules", but that if I take part in these things, It could jeopardize my relationship with God. I want to prioritize Him over anything in my life, and He's allowed and more than blessed my pursuit in voice acting. If you're a man or woman of christian faith and want to pursue voice acting, do it! There's many ways to take your passions to enjoy, and still spread God's love and, ultimately, bring Him glory!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
