Each week, there seems to be another case go public with sexual harassment. The statistics are horrifying, especially on college campuses. With more people speaking up about their mistreatment, conversation has sparked. I hope that this too can bring change. My old friend Christine is so brave for coming out with her stories from her experiences at our high school Xavier College Prep and college Creighton University. These are two Catholic institutions that have proven over and over again to only follow their own policies when it is convenient for them. I'm so proud of the people including Christine who are sharing their stories to create some conversation. We can only hope this invokes change, but history shows us these organizations only downplay severity.

I am sick and tired of hearing repeating stories of negligence. Before going to high school and college, we are informed with stats of horrible violent acts that have happened on campuses. When I finally got to Xavier College Prep and Creighton University, I became one of those statistics. Now, as I am preparing my exit of these organizations, I continue to hear these stories of bullying and harassment to younger students.

Bullying is present everywhere at all times and my schools have been so irresponsible and ineffective in "attempting" to fix the problem, or trying to cover it up. To Xavier College Preparatory and Creighton University: Everyone is fed up with your immoral behavior. We know that exposing these stories won't make you change any policies. But isn't that one of the mains points of being a Catholic -- doing the right thing even when people aren't watching? Your values mean nothing if you repeatedly fail to embody them.
